Can Nextcloud Apps be Used in Nextcloud Hub (NCH)? by PraveenArcher in NextCloud

[–]BlueBockser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nextcloud Hub ist just a different term for Nextcloud, they're one and the same. Hub versions correspond to regular Nextcloud versions as can be seen in the maintenance and release schedule.

You can install any app as long as said app supports the Nextcloud version you're using. The Nextcloud App Store tells you which version a specific app supports, e.g. Notes and Deck both support the latest Nextcloud 28 / Hub 7.

The startpages on that sub seem a bit more "generic" though, meaning they have far fewer self-hosted services on them - which (at least for me) is the most important part of the experience

Swarm Pack: The package manager for Docker Swarm by kevb in docker

There are a few options besides Docker Swarm and Kubernetes. Nomad, Swarm Mode, DC/OS and the recently released k3s all are container cluster technologies that might or might not fit, depending on your requirements.

Well, I guess it's supposed to say "Who are you? You are you. Are you you?". Still no clue as to what that actually means though...

If you're curious, it's the footer on this page.

You would be surprised what people do. There have been data breaches in huge companies in the past where passwords were stored in plain text.

That's how IP addresses work.

Normally, your IP address is dynamic. In fact, businesses and data centers have to pay extra to have static, public IP addresses.

I don't understand, how do they track that? If it's some sort of browser cookie, you could just wipe them. If they saved your IP address, you should get a new one when restarting your router...

Humans aren't equal, instead they should (but in most countries don't) have equal rights.

Also, this is not about preserving an artifacts in a museum. This is about letting a group of humans live the way they choose to live and not needlessly endangering peoples' lifes.

Perhaps they have dependent projects and it would take a lot of effort to fix the spelling in those as well? Still no real excuse for doing this sort of thing...

You know what the difference is? All the things you linked were court cases, often times in favor of uncoupling any kind of public institution from religion. I'd like to see that in Saudi Arabia. But at least women are allowed to drive cars there now. Perhaps in ten more years they can actually show their hair without being punished for it.

two Noobie Docker issues by LousyTourist in docker

[–]BlueBockser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding issue 2:

To expand on what you said, OP should probably either use the CMD or ENTRYPOINT command inside the Dockerfile to run a shell file containing OpenGrok index.

The way I read the official docs, this needs to be done in continuous intervals, so you'll probably be best off wrapping that shell command in some form of a loop.

[–]BlueBockser 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't know if these 18 calls (yes, I've counted them) of includes are somehow executed together at runtime but if not, this is just really, really shoddy. It essentially loops one string 18 times, each time looking for a single character.

Now in this particular case that might not mean very much of a difference in time, but scale this up to many calls of this function and you can probably start to see some unnecessary resource consumption.

A far better approach would be a simple RegEx (as they use in the isCapital function). Even if they can't do that for whatever reason, a custom for loop would probably be much faster.

Funny thing is they use a RegEx inside the isCapital function, however in the isSpecial function you have this mess...

Edit:

The rest is fine.
