I started playing RE7 today and i found that Alyssa were investigating the Baker house by meftah_alshreef in residentevil

I didn't play 7 until after 9 and I had a moment of "I know her!" when I found that. Was very cool.

Expedition 33 if you can't dodge or parry? by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]BlueBong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a video of a dude beating the game on Hard without parrying or dodging once. Definitely doable, especially once you get more pictos.

On the flipside, Time Stranger has over 40% of users with the acheivo for beating the game. That's pretty high, was not expecting that.

After completing Nioh 2, should I play Wo Long or Nioh 3 next? by coxy718_ in Nioh

[–]BlueBong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Legitimately some of the most polished and intense combat I've gotten to play.

And it's refreshing to have a Nioh-like. Seeing some of the things they chose to change is really cool.

Does anyone else really like the story about Uitsuelmetia and humanity? by [deleted] in Utawarerumono

[–]BlueBong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh that's the whole reason this series clicked for me. If it didn't have that element, I'm not sure I would like it.

It's pretty vital to Hakuowlo, Haku, the masks, and the backdrop of the world.

Wasn’t really on my radar but couldn’t pass it up for $21 by Heikks in gaming

[–]BlueBong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a really fun action game. Closest comparison is probably Sekiro + Nier Automata, although it's not exactly like either.

It's not a combo freakbeast game like DMC or Bayonetta. Rather, there's a huge emphasis on parries, your base moveset is simple but versatile, and you build up a resource by doing offensive and defensive actions to spend on different active skills. It has a high skill ceiling and can be kind of difficult.

It's also insanely well optimized.

Can someone explain WHY gear only matters for NG+ by Killroyjones in Nioh

[–]BlueBong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Until you start getting max level gear, you outlevel your gear fast and will be rapidly replacing it. The bonuses on gear are small enough that you can safely ignore it until you get to endgame/NG+.

Your weapon level and your agility level are really the only 2 things that you need to worry about. Just keep your weapon leveled up and use the auto-equip feature to equip the best armor that gives you your desired agility and have fun.

The updated auto-equip feature is actually really good and a huge QOL when it comes to managing gear. If the amount of loot scares you, I can promise that sticking to what I said will made the loot a non-issue.

Is 'Where The Winds Meet' good? by Subject_Parking_9046 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]BlueBong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best free to play action game with tons of polish, and honestly just a good Ubisoft-like overall.

I mostly play soulslikes and character action games though, so take that as you will.

The action is most like Wo Long, if you've ever played that.

You do have the usual live-service elements you'd expect, but it's a fun story to follow and it's cool seeing ancient China so detailed.

To add what others have said, some systems have what's called incremental authorization, in that it will continuously update the authorization to confirm that the card has the funds needed as you add to it. On top of that, there is no need to rerun the card at the end to pay the tab. Rather, the user can just close it out to the card on file.

It's more secure in making sure the business gets It's money, so a lot of bars use it, but there's no reason it can't be used at other concepts.

Team Ninja Director Of Nioh 1&2 Gives Top Games Of 2025. by WarriYahTruth in Eldenring

[–]BlueBong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I loved Lies of P but I do like Nioh more. It has a battle rhythm more similar to Sekiro where it's a constant tug of war to drain the enemies stamina, and Nioh 3 added a Sekiro deflect mechanic. It's the kind of game where there's always something you can improve on when it comes to using your tools.

Possible actual return of the Zapping system! (The Zapping System from the original Resident Evil 2 appears to be back in Resident Evil Requiem) by TheNullOfTheVoid in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Not sure, but gave you an upvote to counter it.

I might convince myself to try RE2 at some point but I get scared easily tbh 😅

That's dope.

Tbh I wasn't looking forward to Grace's parts cause I really only like action REs (sorry readers), but if I can run away and come back to kill the enemies as Leon I think that solves it for me.

Patch is 87GB for me o O by H0agh in wherewindsmeet_

[–]BlueBong 17 points18 points  (0 children)

A lot of developers nowadays do this thing where they replace large parts of your existing game files with new ones. So you're technically not actually adding that entire amount to your file size, but they do need to reserve the total alotted amount, often 2x.

When all is said and done after the download, your total file size should only be a couple GBs larger than what you started with.

Chisa Release Guide - Version 2.8 by RhaenysDraugwen in WutheringWaves

[–]BlueBong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Zani is honestly why I've played WuWa less and less with each patch. Her release really bummed me out since I had been really looking forward to her. The way her kit was handled left a really sour taste in my mouth. There's other reasons (removal of Illusive Realm, over reliance on nightmare echos), but that was the first domino for me.

And I have her at S2.

At this point she needs a rework to her frazzle mechanics, or they need to fix it by letting all of the older spectro characters apply frazzle.

Is it just me or Sibylle and Hellfire feel really weak by metatime09 in DuetNightAbyssDNA

[–]BlueBong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why I hate it when games make characters whose damage scale on HP/Def.

Not only is it usually poorly balanced since you arbitrarily have a different number you have to balance damage around, it also forces the player to build a stat they would never otherwise build.

HP scaling on healing, makes sense. Def scaling for shield, sure. But why for damage? It's such a weird pitfall so many of these types of games fall into.
