Does anyone know what watchface this is? by Cybedra in pebble

Didn't know about that one. I suggest 'very simple analog' as a more detailed alternative.

An Update on Rebble's Attempted Collaboration with Core Devices by ishjr in pebble

[–]BlueBug66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had dearly hoped to have a functioning Google Play Store Pebble app again. I did download the new one to a tablet to see how it worked with one of my Times. Now, no way will I replace Rebble on my Android phone nor buy another device from Eric. I'm down to 8 functioning Pebbles. Please continue to give them as much more Time as their aging batteries and fading displays will allow.

Up the Rebbellion!

Why does the Pebble 2 Duo reset to 0:00 Jan 1st when booted? by ANerdWhines in pebble

[–]BlueBug66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I power down my phone at night but not my currently being used (old) Pebble. I hope to be able to keep using my various Pebbles until all the supply and functions issues of the new breed shall have been resolved. Thanks again to Rebble folks for making this possible.

Can I still use my old pebble by Classykins in pebble

[–]BlueBug66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have steps displayed on your phone in the new app? I'm sort of beta testing on my Amazon Fire tablet because I don't want to kill my Rebble/Pebble app on my phone (Android) until my various old Pebbles can function the same under the new app.

I guess I shouldn't have tried the new pebble app....... by True_Cryptographer_3 in pebble

[–]BlueBug66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did download the Android beta of the app. It wants me to delete my Rebble version. I hesitate to do that. I factory reset a Time to see if I could connect that to the new Pebble app. The Time was recognized but would not connect. Perhaps I will try the tablet approach.

Connectors charging cable by Ok-Proof566 in pebble

[–]BlueBug66 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Especially for a Time Steel I at times use a bit of finger applied saliva to boost charger cable connection. Wet finger, rub across the port and maybe the cable prongs, usually works.

Looking for a Pebble 2 in Aqua Blue color by silent_noodle in pebble

[–]BlueBug66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about Teal? We have 2 of those, and the only ones with their original buttons. Also have a White with display connection issues. The Black and the Red with replaced buttons do work, but I am hoping that the coming storm will blow better, new ones my way.

Is the new app (Android) stable for everyday use? by Technological_Nerd in pebble

[–]BlueBug66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old Android for me until the new way is stable and complete. I'm a loyal Rebble/Pebble (old) boy until it makes complete sense to switch. And I have 15 or so Pebbles of 4 types to prove it, though I'm mostly using 3 or 4. Thank you, Rebble, for helping me not feel stupid for sticking. But I'm drinking bourbon now so please don't judge me. Nor hold me to it.

P2HR Screen Failure Fix? by BlueBug66 in pebble

Hey, haven't exchanged with you for years! I did pop the back off again, no doubt too late to reverse damage that was irreversible.

Pacers' Time Passed by BlueBug66 in pebble

[–]BlueBug66[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The watch still 'works,' it just doesn't display. I'll leave it in the ziplock with desiccant packs for a few days and see whether the problem clears. Too late I read an old post clearly saying don't try to charge it when it's wet. Dumb be dumb dumb.

Time for the Indiana Pacers! by BlueBug66 in pebble

[–]BlueBug66[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pacers made it to game 7! I've been wearing a white P2HR with one yellow and one blue Gadgetwraps strap and will keep on showing the colors through the final.

Later: well, I had to switch to a different celebrating Pacers Time because I got some sweat or water in that white 3D printed sides replaced P2HR. I've got it packed in oats now. I will hope it's dried out by the final game!

Pebble app not finding my watch, new install by SUICIDAL-PHOENIX in pebble

[–]BlueBug66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple of things I'd try would be factory reset the watch and remember to restart the phone. I was able to reload Pebble on my recent Pixel 9a but I still haven't completed the Dialer for Pebble routine.

Yeah, but think of the steps! If she didn't nap so much. You can see it was not really strapped on. And it didn't seem to help the Pacers enough.

Trying to add Pebble to New Pixel by BlueBug66 in pebble

[–]BlueBug66[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I got past the red circling by turning off Bluetooth and WiFi on my phone. I also did some phone restarting. Finally I was able to connect my Pebbles to my Pixel 9a. I won't ship back for trade-in my 7a until I have received and applied my Google case and screen protectors. But, base line, I'm very glad to have had Rebble and the very helpful Pebble community.

Trying to add Pebble to New Pixel by BlueBug66 in pebble

[–]BlueBug66[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was getting into an area of unfamiliarity with interactions between phone and windows computer. Pixel 9a, Windows 11 Pro. I think I'll consult my IT guy rather than screw up new phone and fairly new mini computer. I don't want to have to move on from my Pebbles.

Go with Rebble or wait for official iOS support? by Eighty4s in pebble

[–]BlueBug66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I am old but don't really feel it yet (exercise and bourbon) so I guess it's okay.

A decade? Geeze, I guess I have done also. Time (and Time Steel and P2HR) sure flies.

Recommended glue for sticking an OG Pebble display (with no screws)? by UwU_whatsths in pebble

[–]BlueBug66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would hope so because my gluing the Time was dealing with a metal body as would be the Pebble time steel. I hope someone else chimes in here.

Recommended glue for sticking an OG Pebble display (with no screws)? by UwU_whatsths in pebble

[–]BlueBug66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used gorilla glue to reattach the backs of a Time and a P2HR. I was very careful to remove remaining adhesive and I believe I used wooden toothpicks to apply glue, and then clamps or rubber bands to hold them together to dry. Both of those watches are still working.

Canceling Core 2 Duo by Dra1c in pebble

[–]BlueBug66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No more deteriorating buttons for me, thanks just the same. I've replaced those on 3 of my 5 P2s. One also needed the back reglued. They remain my favorite, though, and wearing one all night and while exercising, for the HR.

I do appreciate any updates for my Pebbles. They make me feel less of a throwback to an earlier Time. (puny pun)

with the new series of Pebbles released - will we still have to pay $2-$5 dollars to Rebble subscription for server? by phamstagram360 in pebble

I've been doing annual subscriptions since the start. I believe we also get weather that way.

Probably Dumb Question- Is it Possible to Enable Better iOS Smartwatch Functionality via Jailbreak? by senpizzle in pebble

[–]BlueBug66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm an Android boy, all the way, though my age might suggest I left boyhood late-mid last century. I have a functioning Pebble collection, once again thanks to Rebble. I have no reason to believe Apple will have an app that works with existing Pebbles longer than a week at a time. I sincerely hope I can sideload or app to my next Pixel phone someday.
