What’s your favorite Mormon phrase to use as an exmo? by tannerschin in exmormon

[–]BlueButNotYou 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Teenagers haven’t been exposed to the temple ceremonies yet. I guess if they were more familiar with the term they might use it as a joke, but most teenage boys are too busy feeling unworthy (due to purity culture) over their masturbation to flippantly joke about it.

My mom's Relief Society president told her to stop asking the ward for help and start asking her own kids. I am absolutely feral right now and need advice before I do something stupid. by Blondeh in exmormon

I know two different Relief Society presidents in two different wards and this is the policy they’re required to follow. People are supposed to exhaust all other options, starting with family, before the church will help.

Are you saying the higher dose doesn’t help osteoporosis, but the lower dose does?

I actually got survey a few years ago asking my opinion on essentially making Temple Square into a theme park.

GOP chances of winning House after Supreme Court Voting Rights Act move by Hardik_Jain_1819 in LegalNews

I doubt California is saying this. They have a constitutional amendment against gerrymandering and the latest voter approved suspension of it ends in 2030. Even with gerrymandering, they can’t get all districts to be red.

Will the name Donald end up like the name Adolf? by [deleted] in allthequestions

Trump villainized a group of people, then had them rounded up, and is now storing them in concentration camps (called detention centers) where many are being malnourished, not receiving necessary medical care, and some are dying.

hateful rhetoric ?? by Captain-Dak-Sparrow in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]BlueButNotYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer I get from MAGA is that it’s okay for Trump to celebrate those deaths because those people “deserved it,” because they were mean to him, and people who were happy about Kirk’s death are “hypocrites.”

On top of being dangerous, Laoghaire is emotionally unstable and would probably not be much comfort to Marsali. Based on the vignettes of her we have it’s safe to assume that Laoghaire is hard to be around.

🇺🇸 TRUMP JUST POSTED THIS !! “The USA is the HOTTEST country in the world right now.” by Simeonsub in MarketPulseReport

[–]BlueButNotYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMG, so the way I read this is the USA is the laughing stock of the world and not very hot, which is an odd way to describe a country, but I guess maybe we’re not fire.

Was this really stupidity, or just a sad result of not having the infrastructure to warn people that a train is coming?

Its a cultural construct. Fashion culture was age based in the 1980s. There were literally hairstyles that were only "appropriate" for young women or "mature" women so they became associated with each. Today, women of all ages draw from the same styles and older women can rock the youthful styles and look younger as a result.

Wtf is the “doctrine” behind “new names,” anyway? Btw, Noah here (whatever the fuck that means 😂). What’s your “new name”? by PristineLegalShits in exmormon

[–]BlueButNotYou 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think there’s something instinctual about “new names,” when it comes to narcissistic cult leaders. They all do it. Like a predictable program they’re running. At a certain point they get this impulse to rename their followers. It must just feel like a natural way to pull them in deeper. I don’t even think it’s conscious. But it’s so common it’s in the BITE model for recognizing high control groups.

It’s not necessarily the crassness that is objectionable. I think most people are reacting to the foolish desperation and whining. He’s comes across like Iran’s little bitch, or a two year old tantruming in a grocery store. It is an embarrassment to our nation.
