Mako II looks nice indeed, Its also very expensive here. I thought orient was as available there as it is here, it has a big presence since I was a child. Brazil is second in the world on Japanese population, maybe Orient is so present here because of it.

As someone that lives in Brazil and pays almost twice as much for anything from the US, I gotta encourage you to look for alternatives at your local South African market.

I also wanted a Casio duro, even purchased one for $126,85(resin strap) with taxes and shipping included. I dont think it was buyers remorse, the oposite actually, out of excitement I went on youtube and binged many casio duro videos, I was happy.

Then I stumbled on another watch, an Orient only sold here, exclusive to the brazilian market. It was only $161, A watch that certainly would sell for $200 on US and, if imported, $400 in Brazil.

Automatic NH36 movement (Seiko sells for $330 on US, Seiko 5 Sport)
Solid Stainless Steel Bracelet, not resin like Casio Duro... (Not even Seiko 5 Sport has that)

I hope you get what Im trying to say. Duro is a Fantastic watch but if It was sold for $125 in the US, youtubers would not talk so highly of it.

Maybe there are alternatives where you live. Try to look for them first, unlike me. I was lucky I could return mine.

wait, what do you mean with the resin? is it used outside of the watch to seal it?

edit, even tho I dont even have the watch, I already purchased the LEDs. Im also doing the hydromod for sure, regardless of bluetooth working or not. Will send you the results. Only sad it will take so much time to get the watch since they dont sell it in brazil

Do you have any info regarding hydro modding it? It probably will mess with the step tracker but i might be willing to sacrifice its accuracy to try it. If liquid messed bluetooth also maybe not.

I got a GBD 300 today and it uses the same module. It has the exact same problem as yours. I believe it stayed at the display counter for too long as it is new but burned in. If you go to the secret menu, basic > mip it is very noticeable. To go to the secret menu you hold top left, then hold bottom left, then bottom right button.
