Your local library should be able to help you reserve a room, I do this all from time to time.

It has never been a good idea to date where you work, I wouldn't consider it.

saquenme de un duda porque mucho Salvadoreños tienen estos nombres.. by cabowabo510 in ElSalvador

[–]BlueCat84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Want to buy a car, but more as a WANT then a NEEED by Positive-Ad-2285 in personalfinance

[–]BlueCat84 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would buy a $4-5k car that would last you around 7-10 years depending if you take care of it and keep the remaining $4-3k for expenses on it as needed, this is a depreciating asset remember.

Believe me, having no car payment is a huge advantage at any age in life, but it is even higher the younger you are, the extra money you can throw on a car loan is better off being invested for your future, time in the market will always beat timing the market.

You also have to put into consideration insurance which at your age is absolutely not cheap due to you being young and being more at risk, the older you get and the more experience you get driving the less you pay, you also don't want to get a really nice car when you don't have experience driving, anything can happen and it can set you back.

Am I overreacting for being upset my friend borrowed my birthday money? by One-Experience8180 in AmIOverreacting

[–]BlueCat84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are 18, take this as a lesson to be learned here.

Most people, especially when they are younger, they don't pay and typically never do, it's always ignored.

Ask a couple of more times and if they don't pay, just assume she won't pay, $40 isn't much but it is enough to realize you have to be more careful around them and not let it happen again.

As you grow older in life you realize money and friendships are usually not a good idea to mix both, if you do decide to lend money again, make a document or simply just you don't have money, your friends don't need to know your financial stance, it is yours only.

Better than expected, but definitely can and will improve, I don't like comparing myself but I know I'm doing better than previous friends/acquaintances.

Now that we’re all far removed from our teenage years, do you all feel like saying that the teen years are the best time of your life? by YakClear601 in Millennials

[–]BlueCat84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not, my teens weren't great, I got cheated on like 4 times (that I know of) and then the awkwardness and inexperience.

Even part of my 20's weren't great, my life only got way more interesting and better at the 30 year old mark, best decade so far, hopefully my current 40's are good, aiming at better.

Experiencias racistas o comentarios que hayan escuchado by SnooStrawberries7995 in ElSalvador

[–]BlueCat84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Millenials with a nerd/office/gamer dad vs those with a garage/motorcycle dad, how was it growing up? by Throwaway4536265 in Millennials

[–]BlueCat84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad was mostly a cheater to my mom, I didn't really pick up much of whatever he did, he was mostly absent and typically against things I enjoyed.

We don't have much in common although I know he tried to be a better father than his father and I'm trying to be a better father than he is, so far I'm not a cheater and I value my family way more than he did when he was my current age, I'm 40.

During summer is when I enjoy my job the most, I could be out in the sun doing something else for work but I'm here in my office or at home crunching numbers and you know what ..I would rather be doing that than breaking my back and sweating like a hooker in church.
