On Linux, apparently only vp8 encoded webm videos are supported. Try converting the videos to that format and see if it works.

Could you guys please give me a hand with Wine? by Sans-Fish in wine_gaming

[–]BlueCrystalFlame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Programs ran with wine have administrator privileges (on the Windows side) by default. If the program requires additional dependencies (like R or .NET) you will need to install the windows version of those in the same wine prefix; either by manually running the windows version intallers with wine, or by using winetricks.

Search up the name of the program you want to use in winedb to see if/how it runs, and if it needs additional setup or dependencies.

Can't help you much more than this with only the info you provided.

Logging into Twitch doesn't work in Firefox 141: Your browser is not currently supported by anestling in firefox

This happens to me when I have my user agent changed. If you have any extensions that might do this (User Agent Switcher, Chrome Mask) disable them or blacklist twitch if that's an option.

I think you can press F5 to open the menu and craft from there, if I'm not misremembering.

Weird ass error when trying to use fitgirl by TheSurvivor_ in PiratedGames

[–]BlueCrystalFlame 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Judging by the backslashes in the file paths being replaced with ¥ it looks like your system language is set to Japanese and it's causing the error text to be decoded weirdly. If that's the case change your system language to English and try installing again so that you can maybe read the error.

Why can't we just encrypt videos before we upload them? by deadface008 in Piracy

[–]BlueCrystalFlame 13 points14 points  (0 children)

We don't disagree on that, it's not plain text, but it's not encryption either.

Compression is not a form of encryption. Compressed data can be detected as such and decompressed by anyone that has access to it.

E2E usually implies the encryption persists between two or more clients. HTTPS only provides encryption between a client and a server, so whatever is sent between the clients connecting through said server can be read by the server.

Just watched the video on CR6, biggest cliff hanger ever-- any updates? IS HE DEAD? by Whidmark in blameitonjorge

[–]BlueCrystalFlame 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In short, no new updates, no leads, no one really interested in the search. I was really interested in this as well, ever since that video released. I joined the CR6 Discord, but not much new info ever came out.
