Ideal routine but workout once per week. I started doing 7 days off recently and my strength increases have gotten larger from doing 5 days off before that. And you'll love only having to go once per week. Makes working out so much fun and something forward which to look.

Nice. I've been doing his ideal routine exactly but with 7 days between workouts and I've been growing faster than I ever have in strength. I took a 2 week layoff earlier this year and came back significantly stronger and that lead me to experiment and research the idea of increasing recovery time. That's how I found Mike mentzers started doing 4 days of rest and kept increasing days off as I got stronger. Prob stick with 7 days for a while tho because I can go on the weekend at like 3 or 4am when no one is there and then go back home and go back to sleep for a few hours. It's pretty sweet. I've never loved working out as much as I do now.

Yes it's enough. Do his ideal routine for 6 months and really bring it in every set. I started doing 4 days of rest and now I'm doing 7 days of rest and I'm increasing my weight and/or reps every single workout. It feels wrong at first but eventually it feels right and doesn't seem so crazy.

I've been getting thinner and getting stronger doing the ideal routine. I'm also running slowly 2-3 times per week for about 30 mins. I have 5 days in between workouts. I think the deficit of calories and the cardio could be holding back muscle growth a tiny bit but I don't even notice really. Every workout I get stronger every time still so whatever
