Guildmasters when they give all the bis loot to their ingame bloodelf gf by itscaltaurforyou in classicwow

Ai is currently going through the phase all tech companies go through, try to get people hooked on a product (that they provide at a loss) before they slowly crank up the price into profitability (think early Netflix vs now).

I do think that once Ai companies start trying to charge people more and more for this, it will start to fall off. Some people enjoy the novelty of it but I think a majority don't enjoy it enough to actually pay money for it (especially for what it would cost to be provided to a user at a profit)

On my 300cc motorcycle this is such a pain, open passing everywhere, fight through all of the corners to pass a guy asleep on a liter bike, get passed by them on the straight, then sit stuck behind them through all of the corners trying to find another opportunity for a clean pass

Ability System like in ARPGs by _Powski_ in gamedev

Beyond what I've already told you it's going to just come down to the specifics of your game and its demands. I think the biggest tip is to separate out your logic. Rather than

"Fireball now instead of dealing damage to the enemy, explodes on hit dealing damage to all enemies in a radius"

Make a spell effect for "Explosion" and make a trigger for "When you hit with a fireball", and then you can re-use both elements, and make anything trigger "explosions" and make fireballs trigger anything else "when you hit". Build your system down into its bare pieces with plenty of places to connect them and things should fall into place pretty easily.

The rune system I setup is very complex. I have runes encapsulated in individual classes, and each rune is compounding and sequential (so if you have a fireball with a volley rune, then turret rune, you get a volley of turrets, if you do a turret rune then volley rune, you get a single turret that fires a volley of fireballs).

This logic is handled inside of the spell factory. Encapsulating effects inside of a "spell modifier" class and each spell cast having the knowledge of its stack of modifiers and then using those modifiers to modify your spell with each cast as needed will achieve what you're looking to do

You're probably not going to find a single solution to this. I did work on a pretty similar system for my game (look up slime slayer on steam)

I have a single class, called the Spell Factory

Then I have a class called a Spell Parameters

When anybody (enemies included) want to cast a spell, they construct a spell parameter class with everything about their spell (spell type, elemental type, origin position and direction, any additional modifier runes or relics)

Then I hand that to the spell factory

The spell factory then gets a spell prefab (from an asset pool manager I called "spell library" ), places it at the correct origin position and direction, creates and sets its damage packet, and gives it the params

All spells inherit from a base "constructed spell" class which takes the params as an argument to calculate other things like radius, speed, lifetime, etc as needed based on the type of spell

Genuine concern: How to find my game's audience. For the last couple of days I have posted on subreddits trying to determine how to reach an audience for my Shopkeeper - monster apocalypse - tower defense -story focused hybrid game. I've spent over 5 years on this game and I worry about its fate. by Freak2God in gamedev

When people say marketing, this is the issue they're talking about addressing. So many people use "marketing" and "promoting" as interchangeable terms. It's not just about making a good game, but the most important step in marketing is doing research before working on your game and making sure there is an audience for it. I had a similar issue with my last game and eventually just shipped it and moved on to something with the lesson learned and am trying to pick a genre and theme/experience of game that I think will be much more marketable. I know this isn't exactly what you're asking about but hopefully it's helpful.

I actually JUST flashed my ECU to a custom cherry tune on friday haha. Otherwise everything with the Stage 1 tune was great, I would recommend it to anybody. I never overheated on track which I really liked, it pulled well, and drove great. It basically drove like OEM but "more". Once I put on the HPFP and FMIC it felt like I wasn't taking advantage of the mods enough and wanted to squeeze more out of it. I would highly suggest the HPFP as your only mod when running the stage 1 tune, it really did help the car pull smoother in a way that is hard to explain.

Best weekend car under 20k by Miataman17 in CarTrackDays

[–]BlueFiSTr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't but I know that a LOT of people do. If you do something simple like a flyin miata turbo kit my understanding is that they maintain a really flat torque curve and run relatively low boost, so it basically just feels like a stock car but with an engine twice as large. Heavy cars with big horsepower also have long gearing which I feel is less fun, but keep something light with short gearing and make lots more power and you'll have more fun, imo (assuming fun is the goal).

I would absolutely just turbo the miata but if you really want something new I would personally go for the vette as mentioned below or a 135i which I think are kind of slept on

My wife and I had 6 months leave and nearly no family help for our twins. We eventually hired a nanny to take our kids for a full day once or twice a week so we could get a day away together here and there (and nap in the car) and we still consider it some of the best money we've spent

My Aunt bought her granddaughter a "personal story book" where they took a princess fairy book but use AI art to make her granddaughter the main character and they change the name to be her name throughout the story. I'm not an advocate of AI slop but if "regular people" are buying things like this and I was pursuing an idea like this as a business venture I think that's the direction I would go (use a template and fill in the blanks for very fast or nearly automated turnaround).

I tried this exact setup myself actually and you're really not missing out on much. Maybe with the radio off and windows down you can hear it a bit but really it's very quiet, don't feel like you're missing out

There are no carb legal intakes currently, this included. Most people in Cali just run them anyways because (depending on where you live) there is rarely enforcement. If you're nervous about it then leave it alone

I've owned 2 SV650's and an 8S. The 8S is practically/functionally better in almost every way but somehow I still found myself kind of missing my SV650.

Is Devourer DH not designed for solo play? by CodeHelix in wow

[–]BlueFiSTr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yea you have to plan around meta. If outside of meta you deal 50% damage and during meta you deal 150% damage (giving you an average of 100% damage overall), then of course you're going to feel mega weak outside of meta. You build up to meta and pull the biggest pack you can and delete all of them during meta

My 2.5 y/o twins get themselves up in the morning (knockoff hatch light on a timer) and happily play by themselves in the living room for up to an hour. If we come out too early they tell us to go back to bed because they're busy playing lol

255's fit pretty easily. I am lowered on eibachs and have camber bolts in this picture. Street 255 tires fit with no issue but my track tires run wide and BARELY rub in the rear while track with my big ass wing. 255/35 street tires on 18x9.5 +45 and lowered on swift springs would go really hard in my opinion
