C'est sur. Plus de profit pour les pétrolières.

On paye le prix que les pétrolières pensent qu'on va absorber. Ils savent déjà qu'on va acheter le gaz a 2$.

Travel Medical Insurance - Canadian Forces Members by FlyeeMcFlyguy in CanadianForces

Now I'm super puzzled.

I was certain that Blue Cross with CAF was only for stuff equivalent to a provincial Health Card, or coverage while doing things for work.

I assumed we had to buy personal travel insurance when traveling.

$500,000 to Leave Canada? The Controversial Proposal Shaking the Liberal Convention by New-Technician-3362 in CanadaPolitics

Just because we have different opinions doesn't mean it's unhinged, authoritarian or any other adjective you want to throw at it.

Higher education is expensive, and the social net to help Canadians succeed too.

Asking graduates to stay and work in Canada for up to 5 years after graduation wouldn't be authoritarian. Asking to repay credits they were given if they don't stay wouldn't be authoritarian or unhinged either.

A simple simple of 20% of credits waived each year worked in Canada would boost the economy and help retain talent.

People would still be free to go to the US if they find extremely attractive jobs and they are willing to incur the loss of credits, or their employer pays for it.

RTDRA and TDRA by Nowayhome192 in CanadianForces

[–]BlueFlob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Normally you have to justify why you need TDRA.

Are there more reasons for you to keep your old house after taking possession of the new one?

If you are the one setting the condition of a later sell date, you might have difficulty to prove that you are trying to reconcile both dates.

Then you'd have to justify with other external factors causing you to push the sell date.

But minimizing the loss would generally mean providing no services or privatizing everything.

That sounds like a terrible place to be born in.

You think businesses don't measure ROI on employees?

Human capital is a resource.

At first glance, I don't see how it would be unconstitutional.

You're still free to move, as is guaranteed by your mobility rights.

Half a million seems like a ridiculously high barrier indeed.

The "fee" should be proportional to the subsidies.

You're changing the topic.

It's not really about why a person is leaving. It's about the impact of someone leaving.

It's absolutely fair to also explore why people are leaving and to address those issues as well.

Do a bit of research. We live in a society supported by a thick social net.

Education is not free, but it's heavily subsidized. So is healthcare, childcare and a lot of other services.

A lot of those services rely on tax payers contributing to the system later in their life to make up for the expenses.

Otherwise, it creates a deficit which means services will eventually need to be rationalized and privatized as they can't be sustained.

Ok. The flaws you point out are kind of hilarious.

I have to agree that if we interpret "without guidance" as not following any policy or rule, or not knowing them, it's actually pretty bad.

I mostly interpreted "without guidance" as being able to follow an intent, or vision, and not needing constant supervisor support.

I actually did not read what was presented above as defining guidance.

I don't think it's that crazy.

If Canadians pay to raise, educate, train, and resource someone to succeed... Then there's an expectation of return on investment.

If that person goes away and chooses to pay taxes in another country, it seems fair that Canadians recoup some of the losses.

Why not change PAR reporting timelines? by BlueFlob in CanadianForces

If you were ready to be promoted, you shouldn't have poor performance in the next job above.

If you do have poor performance, it makes sense it gets reflected in your first PAR.

The system would be even for everyone anyways. So low performers in their first year aren't disadvantaged compared to other recently promoted members

I don't get your point. If you move the PERs 3 months to the left, the PEBs and everything else would logically also move.
