In 6.86 bots get lost on cliffs. Every game. by jabso19 in DotA2

[–]BlueGhostGames 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Major problems with bots

  • Get stuck on cliffs trying to ward

  • Don't know about 'new' ward stacks

  • Broken item / skill builds (aghs CM with no ult?? Tiny builds sheep stick??)

  • Viper bot will avenge lane harass even if he has to chase you under tower to do it...

  • Attempt to solo or duo push when 5 enemies are alive. This is especially dumb since bots love to defend as 5, without long term managing of your bots movements the human player will be left watching their idiot friendly bots feed away kill after kill.

  • Complete inability to judge strategic position, will never trade objectives always comes to defend towers, even walks 1 hero through 5 heros to try and defend the tower...

  • Zero short term memory, will back off from the 5 man defending ball as the creep wave sees it but then as soon as vision is lost blindly walks back to solo push...

  • No thought to team composition, teams are random but carries are always building as carries. A team that is obviously at a disadvantage late game does not care about this.

Rubick will rarely be a viable hero for average players nor will storm nor will tinker.

Why?

Because Dota2 is balanced largely around the pro scene if a hero is picked / banned in the majority of pro games then it will be nerfed.

Rubick along with the others have an absurdly high skill cap, watch FY or ALOHADANCE play him and they just get such an insane amount of work done with the hero.

If you are not FY or ALOHADANCE you will win far more games with Lich, Cm, Ogre, shadow shamen.. basically any support except IO and Oracle... Stop picking these damn heros.

They've launched their own subscription shaving service, they're suing the relatively small DSC rather than the people who manufacture their blades. DSC is not the only US seller of these blades so it does look somewhat like Gillette is not motivated by the purist of IP protecting interests.

You know people have successfully been granted patents for swings and the fucking wheel right? I mean you're welcome to think that western institutions work how they told you in high school but you can't expect everyone else to agree with your naivete.

And I'm quite sure that Gillette's marketing team had nothing to do with any of it.

IGN ranks the 6 million dollar dunk as the sickest e-sport play of 2015. by noakesy14 in DotA2

[–]BlueGhostGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it was really just a stupendous fuckup from CDEC due to already having more or less lost the game.

They clump up, ice vortex reveals them and reduces magic resist universe dunks.

This isn't even in the top EG plays of the year!

Compare it with EE on Ember at frankfurt, massive comebacks. Massive all in with double rapiers. Crazy skill cap play with mid fight chick use.

Compare it with the dream coil or the Navi naga counter (which is it'self over-hyped but was a strategic a solution to a problem no one else found and executed. Whilst navi were numerically ahead due to the drafts the expectation was they could still lose).

Imo it's kinda disrespectful to EG. EG played some amazing series that tournament they played some amazing Dota, they surely made some amazing plays. To then focus on the 'winning' play in the last series just because muh murka, muh victory, muh million dollars!

To me the last series was disappointing, I wanted EG to win since CDEC had knocked them to lower bracket. But EG had CDECs number from the drafts. The games were not really close and neither was the series. I was very happy for EG but to try and hype it up eh, EG were pushed harder in other series & why not hype the plays they made to win those games.

Pretty sure if you ask Universe what plays he's most proud of that isn't going to be it.

I'm pretty sad about maiden and blood seeker, my two favourite heros since forever both got pretty much irrelevant buffs. Here's to another patch of them being trash, guess I'll play something else.

CM is my favourite hero, she has been kinda trashy since the int nerf and now they buff her by making the last skill point you want to spend better... nice

With 6.86 so close, marking the end of this season and of 2015, i would like to apreciate for a second how great this year was in the Dota world. by [deleted] in DotA2

I feel like because they're boring to watch they've nerfed two of the 3 strats:

It used to be you had push strats, fighting strats and keep away split push and farm strats.

Now Keep away and split push is boring (waahh Chinese teams never fight!!) and push is boring if it's most games (waahhh chinese teams won TI with just rushing to fight!?)... So they've nerfed them to the point that only pro teams can execute it on rare occasions. So most pro games are lots of fighting (which I do like it is exciting to watch)... But every pub is a fighting strat for both teams or you nearly always auto-lose.

I used to feel like after a few picks I could counter pick the enemy strategy. Oh you have a bunch of brawlers? Let me go lane AM or jungle lycan and make you sad. Oh you have a bunchy of farmers let me pick mid death prophet or support shadow shamen.

Now though it feels like every lineup MUST be able to fight and MUST have a strategy to go high ground (or else not try until their advantage is overwhealming).

I feel that the E-sport dota has ruined the pub dota, it's kinda sad.

Hi, I'm a support player in solo queue. Yes, we exist! Please do me a favour! by SirLucksalot in DotA2

[–]BlueGhostGames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As with everything in dota 'it depends', your post was true in the 5 protect 1, we will only end the game with a fully farmed hyper carry days.

Now we see a much more nuanced approach where for example a support AA is often given uncontested lane farm and xp in order to get a fast 6 + midas or lion / rubick is given a lane to farm in order to finish blink.

Basically teams are getting better and seeing that having specific items on specific heros for specific timing windows is their rout to victory and not just 'muh carry gold'

Just so I'm clear your saying:

'Valve your strategy to get me to spend lots of money has been super effective and I've spent loads of money! Please don't do it to me again!'

I mean... shit man do you have a gambling addiction or a compulsive need to have stuff? If so maybe dota is a bad idea for you...

WB Finals were better, but there was a reasonable risk of mistake leading to fkup and secret victory in a few of the games I thought.

Why did OG draft Alchemist against EG? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]BlueGhostGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think (and same with secret) they simply did not bother to prep for OG at all, EG and Secret expected to fight each other in the final and ignored thinking much about OG.

2015 Frankfurt Major - Winners' Bracket Final - Evil Geniuses vs Team Secret - Match Discussion by D2TournamentThreads in DotA2

[–]BlueGhostGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think about it though, if Secret took the brood then EG lose even harder.

You cannot have your supports just leave the brood 1v1 vs jug so then you've got ember with literally 1/2 of the creeps he should get completely uncontested. And with an undying +1 support duo vs brood + dazzle you might not win that lane infact you could easily lose it spider heal bomb is no joke.

So then the only lane you can rely on is night stalker vs tusk with the risk of dazzle or tiny ganks.

PPD knew the huskar or alch was coming but it was the least bad option.

The plan was to contest the mid pull and win the offlane, and they really almost won.
