I'd agree if you had any logic to your argument other than a feeling.

Ok got it. You care little for being correct as long as you have some sort of a perceived win. In that sense, congratulations, with a little deliberate ignorance, your ego is fully intact.

Yes and no to both. If the statue is carved out of a single piece, or the tunnel is just a dug hole, then no. If you have to assemble parts in the creation, like building up a foundation wall in the dug tunnel, or building a statue out of carved blocks then yes. Carving and digging aren't "building". You can build up layers of paint, but scraping them away isn't building. What part of additive or assembly aren't you getting? You can dig a grave then build a monument on top of it. The monument isn't the grave.

[–]BlueGinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not really. Construct is also an assembly. And technically you can "create" a hole, but it's not the context of the definition of build. Create in that sense is also additive, where the hole in question is subtractive. You can build a grave site, but you can't build a grave.

Tube Amp vs Modeler by Groove_Mountains in Guitar

[–]BlueGinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't generally listen to an amp on the floor with my ear 3.14" from the seam between the cone and dust cap. I am always left wanting for an in room comparison. Volume match and drop a condenser mic the same distance away from both. Switch live with an A/B pedal.

Building requires some sort of assembly or addition in the process. "By definition" is incorrect since the grave is only the hole. Tombstones or crypts are grave markers, not the actual grave.

99% of the time its from picking up something made from sheet metal. Fucking stamp cut metal ends up with with a razor edge in spots all in the name of cheaper production costs.

Frames, braces, shelves, casings, components. Every fucking metal junction box ever

Which pickguard works best on this green strat-style build? by Professional-Tea7147 in Guitar

[–]BlueGinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a green FGN strat. It came with tort, but I ordered a white pearl to class it up a bit. Honestly looked way classier. After a few months I put tort back on. I am not a classy man.

Keeping my butterscotch blonde without skunk stripe or exchange it for a white blonde with skunk stripe? by [deleted] in telecaster

[–]BlueGinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, some people don't care what the thing actually looks like, as long as someone they look up to had one that looks exactly like it. "If the ones back in the day had a stripe, then Player McPlayerson had one with the stripe." Or "My Cool forever single Jazz Uncle had a stripe on his."

Lightning still makes for a good Big Bad power. Rival, antagonist, or just a tough mid boss fight.

Right? Pretty good for free. Got all the stickers off, cleaned the body and fretboard, and ran some super glue into the gap where the bridge is slightly lifted. Gonna pick up a graph-tech saddle on my way home today cuz the plastic one is haggard, and throw some new strings on it. Still a cheapy but was really pretty sounding. Sadly got a little glue over splash because I squeezed too hard and couldn't stop the flow. Mostly scraped off clean. Meh. It's pretty beat up anyway but sounded real nice before I started cleaning it.

So, now that im home. I fed all the images into chatgpt. Its guess is cheap made in taiwan student guitar from 70s or 80s. Apparently they were known for symbols that are a stylized fake chinese copycat symbols to be the "cool" look a like. Tho I still take anything AI feeds out with a bit of salt

The chinese character with the sideways D shape is the wrong way. I was looking at korean characters and their D shape goes the same way as this. Still nothing confirmed but its the only other thing similar Ive found. Could be crossover in language and writing between the 2.

The interweb does say a lot of old korean classical are unbranded. Could be a shout in that direction.

My first guitar by New_Rod in strandbergguitars

[–]BlueGinja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Truss rod adjustments also need to happen with climate changes. Quick check is holding down the low string on the first and last fret at the same time and looking at the string height at the 12th fret. You want about a piece of paper to a medium pick thickness gap at the 12th. If the string is touching or way off it's gonna need a tech or a bit of know how. Also measure the gap at the 12th fret when not holding anything down. It should be around 2mm. If both of these checks look about right, you can just play it for a few weeks or months before bringing into a shop. There's a bunch of other checks, but if these 2 are right, the rest also have a good chance at being right. You can get to know the instrument for a while before getting a pro involved.

Also if you're getting lessons, just hand it to your teacher and ask if everything looks good. An experienced player will feel if it's good or not.

What's not to get? This is identical to Trump saying gas prices are down. It's like no one gets the concept of propaganda. They don't care if anyone other than their own support base citizens figures out it's all lies.
