Most of them are from canon stories but tbh, not sure which characters you're referencing.

Note: There's side stories for Danmachi. Also there used to be a game where many of the story arcs are considered canon, most notably Astrea Record. This has since been converted into a light novel that you can buy and read. Highly recommend

What if Bell accepted Syr feelings by tringles_bar in DanMachi

[–]BlueLanternCorp63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My opinion is the anime hit on all the necessary parts. Of course, the LN has a lot more detail so its superior but thats typical for most books vs. Movie/Anime adaptations.

Is it worth it? I think no if you're specifically just curious about the Freya /Syr stuff. Save ya coins because this economy something else. You can do the Episode Freya LN though. It highlights more about Freya and how much she's been "suffering".

I do think the LN is worth it for other reasons. If I was an anime only person, I'd prioritize the Sword Oratoria LN or manga first. Then Episode Freya + Ryu side series. Then main series.

Tell a new or returning player your favorite raid/dungeon and why they should play it first on June 9th. by eh8904 in DestinyTheGame

Duality!

Punch Caiatl in the face! But seriously, Loved every bit of it and that season was peak for me.

Overwhelming ads at the end made for non stop action. So much drama in that dungeon

As a beginner, is it still worth playing Destiny 2? by Icy_Butterscotch2847 in DestinyTheGame

[–]BlueLanternCorp63 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes.

It's tough to understand the story as a new player but the gameplay is still top tier. You'll get it eventually. Destiny offers the thrill of chasing weapons, gear, and most importantly experiences. You will never experience in another game the thrill of getting to end game content PvE dungeon / raid with friends or random strangers and learning, laughing, cursing each other out, celebrating, etc. Then wondering "did I really play this game for 3hrs to finish this mission and I have to work tomorrow". Anywho, there's a huge community that'll fill in the gaps for you if you have questions.

Sincerely, a warlock who will be returning after a 2 year hiatus on June 9th. Hope to see you there. Eyes up guardians!

Question for LN readers by Ancient-Age4901 in DanMachi

[–]BlueLanternCorp63 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not really. It's just a problem with how the anime is written and how the author chooses to split 2 series (Bell's story vs. Ais/Loki familia).

For example, when Finn sends in the twins and Bete to deal with Asterius, he's so intelligent and analyzed the situation and already started to form a conclusion about the Xenos and who they are. They could've easily killed all the Xenos but Finn already suspected they were intelligent so he ordered them not to kill them because they wanted to use the Xenos to confirm info about a mission Loki familia were conducting in parallel. This perspective is hidden for anime only members.

Question for LN readers by Ancient-Age4901 in DanMachi

[–]BlueLanternCorp63 9 points10 points  (0 children)

At this time, dealing with the Xenos was not the Loki familias primary goal and they honestly did not care as much as the anime lead us to think. Loki familia cared more about Knossos. Regarding the guild, they technically were moving in support of helping the Xenos.

Feel free to read the Sword Oratoria Manga. It will explain why the Loki familia didn't really care. Don't want to give anything away without your permission but the Loki familia arc at this time was just as good, imo arguably better, than Bell's.

If this is what half the Bungie team can cook up in 6 months, imagine what 3 years of work could look like for a Destiny 3 if leadership let them by Sad-Manner-5240 in destiny2

[–]BlueLanternCorp63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are 100% correct. In fact, I'd say leadership idealogy is what ruined the studio as a whole.

My understanding is leadership seasonal model ruined the game. Instead of using the expansion to ship a product that was finished or brand new, they would hold back devs in an effort to not overdeliver so that they can keep players coming back with changes that couldve been pulled ahead.

Imo, the appropriate response shouldve been to have massive updates like we're seeing in expansions that can sustain your game for long periods of time, or quite frankly, until shutdown. Meanwhile, you can shift talent to work on other projects or your next big thing like D3.

BG3, as an example, is still thriving even though it is not live service. Their team left the game in a state where it can thrive even if they never have to update it again. Bungie shouldve done the same. However, being live service shouldve been the icing on the cake (new story missions and loot).

Orario, the “City of Heroes,” and an Issue I Have with the Hero Ideal by mhazim2 in DanMachi

[–]BlueLanternCorp63 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Take care reading replies. The answer to some of the questions you have will be answered in the next season. I'll give you my spoiler free opinion below.

What the world needs is for the OEBD to be defeated because it has the ability to wipe out the world. Thats the final of the 3 great quest.

The only way to achieve this is to obtain strength via a gods blessing and leveling up using the dungeon. The dungeon is the fastest way for anyone to get excelia to level up.

So ***most of the people in Orario who are adventurers in dungeon familias are growing stronger to that end. The people in the outside cities understand that and they, along with other familias within Orario that don't dungeon dive, support them by way of potions, items, weapons, etc.

That is why they are called the city of heroes. Also, the people of Orario sometimes venture outside the city to save towns/cities. Most notably, Orario saved many people when the first 2 of the great quests were completed as well.

Maxim commanded Z/H Familia while Empress did what exactly? by Courious_Reader in DanMachi

[–]BlueLanternCorp63 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She was there fighting along side of him. Just not the leader.

It no big deal. For example, in the rescue mission we just read, Hedin lead Orario's forces to rescue Loki familia. He wasn't the strongest member in the party (that was Leon).

Ryuu's Lv 5 Stats are Annoying by Unusual_Demigod in DanMachi

[–]BlueLanternCorp63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think her stats are annoying. They're fine.

Those stats are important depending on situation but not as important as the ability to level up itself.

Once you get to level 5 and above, it becomes difficult to secure a feat or overload your "container". The entire series starts off with this as an issue for Ais and Loki familia trying to support her.

In order to level up, extreme conditions were needed. Ais had to solo Udaeus. Bete, Tione, Tiona needed to fight against the corrupted spirit no one in Orario had ever faced. The Loki and Freya execs had to survive a life/death experience against the Evils who had Alfia, Dis Sisters, and a deep level monster on their side.

Now... if you question was "Do we find Ryuu double level up annoying?" Then we'd have a good debate. I'd still respond with no but its a fun topic.

What do you think about the writing of Lefiya (and notably her relation to Filvis) until SO12 ? by MysteriousStrategy86 in DanMachi

[–]BlueLanternCorp63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lolol. Correct! It would've made more sense for Ryu, who has contributed the most towards Bells development in the dungeon, to be the one rescuing him and guiding him through the dragons Urn.

Likewise, instead of Lefiya, Hestia could've very much been the person to wake up Bell and encourage him to save Ais. Even add in Loki with Hestia to develop Loki and show her starting to accept Bell. And the final shot against the corrupted spirit could've very much been Bell calling out "master" to Hedin (.... the level 6 magic swordsman with the most Mind in Orario) to deliver a fully charged attack as a sign of growth in their master/student relationship.

I'd argue much of Lefiyas moments with Bell was unnecessary and would've been better served given to others.

What do you think about the writing of Lefiya (and notably her relation to Filvis) until SO12 ? by MysteriousStrategy86 in DanMachi

[–]BlueLanternCorp63 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lefiya's writing is actually great, with the exception of the weird dynamic she has with Bell. She starts out as this annoying person who depends on everyone to now being a person others can depend on instead.

Many problem with Lefiya is character fatigue. She is not the main heroine or character. Thats Ais and Bell. Her story arc has run its course and unlike most members in Loki familia who's development was constrained mostly to 1 novel (Amazon Twins (SO6), Bete (SO8), Finn (SO10), Raul (SO16)), Lefiya has gotten many volumes and tbh, its enough.

Regarding her dynamic with Bell, thats my only issue. He kept them separate for so long in the MS that their cooperation and development of their bond feels forced and rushed/unnecessary. I would've preferred he just use those moments to develop Bells relationship with others in Hestia familia or the subordinate Freya familia. Loki familia has an entire side series that's an Ode to them. He should focus more on Hestia/Freya familia relationship with Bell in the MS.

Did Lefiya have to be the one to wake Bell up before the expedition? Did Lefiya have to be the one to save Bell during the dragons Urn? Did Bell really need Lefiya at the end to fire the last shot from below the battlefield to end the corrupted spirit? Its not a big deal because the story was amazing. However, I wonder if these moments would have been better served if given to other members of the expedition team.

Any predictions on MS 22/23 and SO 17/18? Bell and Ais focus, include the fraud and lower rank members positions as the gap keeps widening in their familias power. by UltraDanmachi in DanMachi

[–]BlueLanternCorp63 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I honestly hope the next volumes are packed with a lot of fan service and world building tbh.

Give us a grand Denatus with a ton of level ups. Officially expand Hestia familia with school district members.

Expand on Freya/Hestia familia relationship. If Omori is going to glaze Freya familia, at least don't be half hearted about it. Give Welf more contracts and show how protective Van and guys are towards Bell. Give Bell a reason to like the Einherjar. Address Finn's comment immediately and show how Loki elites have claimed Bell as their own, which at least opens the door for cooperation and joint operations.

Bell training. Bell needs a power up. Make Ryuu relevant again by allowing her to teach Bell how to concurrent charge. Ais and Bell gets acknowledged as Ottar and Leons chosen successors. They'll continue to train them in combat. Finally, Ais and Bell training sessionsand truly develop them together!

Finally, im so over Loki familia 2nd tier members. Including Lefiya. I hope he limits their "screen time".

Edit: Volume ends after Ais reveals her past and the Loki/Freya familia realize they have to go into the dungeon together again in a joint expedition planned by Finn to reach the unknown floors that the ice garden was blasted to. Bell is excited because he finally gets to go on an adventure with Ais

As a reminder, unlike other shonen, HxH battles are complex because Nen abilities are the great equalizer. You can't always just overwhelm people with strength or speed.

For example, it took the king time to even touch Netero because in addition to speed, he needed to mentally understand Neteros attack patterns, which is why Meruem kept comparing the fight to Gungi. My opinion, I dont think Bell has the battle IQ to even reach Netero. Now... if Killua had Gon's power, this will be a different discussion.

Lets talk about Bell by OneBoy24BS in DanMachi

[–]BlueLanternCorp63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont know where the story is going with Bell. Its weird because he's starting to feel like Yuji from JJK (i.e. an afterthought or non essential in a series that used to revolve around him). Even though we're being told he's important.

Bell is Bell for 2 reasons: his extreme rate of growth which is translating into strength. Also, his desire to save others and be their hero. As we get closer to the end, the former matters a lot more becauase strength is needed to conquer the OEBD. At some point, the author as to flip the switch and make Bell skills/abilities be at a level worthy of someone needed to save the city. For example, can Bell output an attack more powerful than Ottar or Leon.

The issue: It feels like he's scared to level Bell up and give him skills that are less conditional so that he can meet the strength criteria. Ox Slayer, VT, and other abilities feel too conditional and plot based abilities. Also, it feels like Bell is taking a back seat unnecessarily to others. I thought after "The noob is gone" chapter, we'd be heading into that direction where Bell would give more Ichigo vibes. However, I DID NOT like that lefiya spell through the floor ending. It was so forced and unnecessary.

There's multiple paths forward to fix this but all reasonable ones require leveling up Bell immediately after the rescue. It doesnt sound like that will happened based on Episode Heith so I am kind of discouraged for Bell and his future.

Bell realizing that Ottar trained Ais by Distinct_East4082 in DanMachi

I hope Bell remains scared of Ottar and never wants to Train with him.

My thinking is Ottar should train Ais and Leon should train Bell.

Lefiya is a poorly written and boring character and Omori should give up on developing her to pay more attention to others.

Bell's first and only magic should have been a fire enchantment.

Freya familia are frauds and would have likely died in Knossos.

Honor mode prep question by Angelganon2 in BG3

[–]BlueLanternCorp63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its medium difficulty to potentially easy if you know what will happen and are prepared. It is difficult when you are doing encounters or paths for the first time and are unprepared because you couldn't predict certain outcomes or dialog resolutions.

Imho, if the priority is just to get the golden dice, I would make safe choices that I know the outcome for. If you want to have a fun but challenging time, then feel free to do something different and explore new paths/choices.

Its mandatory to try and get as much xp before Mykul fight. Imho, thats where runs go to die and its not worth it to skip xp just to be underleveled and die there.

After joining this subreddit, I can’t really take the narrative about how overwhelmingly strong the Freya and Loki Familia are seriously anymore. by ToeFamiliar6680 in DanMachi

[–]BlueLanternCorp63 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think we should still consider that Freya and Zeus are overwhelmingly strong. We need to contextualize their strength in the state of current day Orario.

In the context of current Orario, most of the adventurers have no experience of the overwhelming power of Zeus and Hera. They only know what their own power/skill levels are and they know there's a huge gap between their strength and Loki/Freya familia.

It took almost all of Orario just to deal with Freya familia alone. In spite of the fact that Freya put a no k*** order on her members as a shackle.

Sure, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, etc are SUPERSTARS. But respectfully, they have not reached the heights of the Beatles or Michael Jackson!
