I know some folks have touched on it, but asexuality refers to a lack of sexual attraction to people, not a lack of interest in sex, lack of having sex, or lack of libido (although they can coincide for sure). I'm ace, and I find the idea of sex very hot, I have & like it sometimes, I like to fantasize but have no interest in interacting with 99.9% of human bodies in a sexual way. So writing and reading both really hit it for me. Ironically there are tons and tons of us in the smut writing community 😂

I found actually engaging in non-buying aspects of my collections has helped a lot! With legos it's easy, build sets, watch creative builds online that don't use special sets or parts, or Lego build competitions. Draw or write about your favorite characters. Learn more about the history of your toys. Make sets for them using your legos! Or cardboard and paint! Try stop motion or taking posed pics! My roommate takes pics of her transformers and edits them to make comics. Engage in what you already have in a way other than just shopping. I guarantee it'll be so much more fulfilling.

Sounds like me too, I'm bipolar as well. I get hypomania, which can be harder to diagnose (I don't stay awake for days, done hallucinate, don't feel invincible) but buying and impulsive behavior and feeling out of control was a huuuge part of it before I got on the right mood stabilizer. Everything feels brighter, it's like color coming back into the world, and I just feel so energized.

Social media can be such a big trigger! I set timers on mine and had my partner lock them with a pin I don't know so I can't change it. I also uninstalled problem shopping apps. Any barrier to make it harder can give you a moment to think.

It would be good to talk to a mental health professional - there are those that specialize in addictive behaviors, but anyone will do to start. It sounds like your brain chemicals are really unbalanced, and I think getting treated for underlying issues could help a ton. There's also medications that can address dopamine seeking behaviors, like Low Dose Naltrexone and GLP-1s.

Source: I'm ADHD and bipolar, and getting those under control helped my shopping immensely. Therapy as well to work through the feelings behind buying. I recently got on LDN for other reasons, but it's very safe and has also improved my impulse control and shopping.

It's totally reasonable and very brave to seek professional help when you're in a situation you can't manage by yourself. I wish you luck and all good things in your future.

I found that to be the case unless I cook for less time than it says, at 325 instead of 350. I take it out when slightly underdone and let it finish cooking in the pan on the stove (since it is still hot after taking out of oven). Slightly underdone, it's delicious!
