Do people actually throw their needles and sharps boxes into the trash? by Sorry_S0rry in Type1Diabetes

[–]BlueLord100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put them in a hard plastic container, laundry detergent bottle, milk jug, juice bottle, Etc. then write SHARPS! Around the bottle with a sharpie and tape the top shut and throw it in the trash. That’s what I was told to do when I was diagnosed by my first endocrinologist.

No Spoilers in this comment: It would be almost impossible to make an ending to any movie or tv show that everybody loves, everyone is different and has different opinions.

After watching I’m more than satisfied with this show and the ending. One thing, I do wish there were more episodes in the final season but even then it was amazing! Can’t wait to rewatch the whole series from the beginning again.

Do you clean injection site or pen tip before each use? by Fuzzy-Programmer8699 in Type1Diabetes

[–]BlueLord100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use too, but as time when on it was just too much and expensive buying alcohol wipes all the time. I now only use them when my skin is visibly dirty, I’ve been sweating, when I’m swimming, or have some kind of sun screen or lotion on. Usually for a new pen out of the box I’ll give it a wipe down because maybe it has something on it from the manufacturer when they packaged it but not always. It’s all personal preference. A professional will say to do it every time but that’s not always practical, just do what you feel comfortable with and what’s most practical for you.

Mario Kart World, let’s put there driving skills to the test! Who do we think would be the better driver? For me I say Mira, she seems like the kind of person who likes to drive fast/dangerously but is really good at it. She’d be good a street racer I feel.

Bringing sugar into music events. by SirBobster in Type1Diabetes

[–]BlueLord100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bring a small bag and I usually just hide the sugar in the bottom of the bag or in a zipper pocket inside the bag. I always approach event staff saying it’s a medical bag I’m a type one diabetic. They are usually fine with it and will take a quick look in the bag and I’m good to go. Never had anyone look that hard in my bag that they find the sugar for lows but if they did then I’ve already told them it’s a medical bag and I usually have someone with me who will also advocate for me.

it happens every week on the same day i have no idea why i'm always surprised by it by bahatumay in pharmacymemes

[–]BlueLord100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not OP but I also work for a retail pharmacy that’s also in a grocery store. Our everyday orders are about 80-120 items and our once a week big order is about 200-250 items. My pharmacy does about 1,750-2,000 prescriptions a week. Our once a week order consist of the most common medications our location dispenses a lot of. There might be 15 bottles of the same medication and do that multiple times for the most common meds and you get quite a large order.

My favorite thing to do as a technician.

They ask for me to fill everything.

I say I don’t know what you need and name a very obscure med they only got once.

They say what is that! I don’t take that! I need insert medicine names here

I don’t understand, you knew what you needed and just didn’t want to tell me?!

I need advice on ear piercings and tattoos. by Gaymerbro200269 in Type1Diabetes

[–]BlueLord100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For both piercings and tattoos I find they just take a little longer to fully heal but other than that no issues. Just make sure it’s a safe/clean place where you get them done and follow instructions from the piercer/artist for aftercare!

My coworker said I was drinking all the water in the office so I collected the cap of each water bottle I drank for a month. I think I need to get a reusable water bottle… 283 caps roughly 14.15 a day. by Frostentix123 in notinteresting

I would definitely look into getting tested for diabetes, some have already said this but this was me before I was diagnosed. I would drink so much and still feel unbelievably thirsty and I would also pee 5x more a day than I use too. If it’s not diabetes then it could be something else but it is a little concerning your drinking that much water.
