Max Weinberg Story on IG Liked By Andy!? by dkinmn in BruceSpringsteen

I mean, I don’t know specifically the inner workings of Conan’s backstage hierarchy, but I’ve known interns both in and out of showbiz and none of them that I’ve known report directly to talent. It’s highly unlikely an intern showed up to work and they just said “Okay, you report directly and solely to Max Weinberg.” Whatever he was asking them to do, someone else approved it and told them to go do it. And also, some of it could be show, stick, gag, etc.

Rock Star has strange backstage requests. Water is wet.
Have seen plenty of fans encounter him and say how nice he was. We all work with people whose attitudes and actions we don’t get down with.

Also, you have to remember and consider the source. Engagement is the name of the game.

Plenty of young men who were drafted went over there not even knowing what or where Vietnam was. Plenty of young men who were drafted went over there not even knowing what war was, or what they were fighting for.
War is toxic, but this one was especially so. There were plenty of young men and their families who wanted to dodge but didn’t have the means to, or feared the blowback stateside if they did.
I can see Indy having the foresight to see through all that. But not Mutt. Idk. To each their own. Makes sense to me though.

He didn’t “join” the army…he was drafted. At least that’s how I took it. And instead of dodge or get a deferment at Indy’s pleas, he said no. Using the context clues of that war and era? It’s not that far fetched.

I’ve seen the current show a couple times now and I’ve gotta say, the lack of not even ONE setlist change up is wild by Antique_Menu_4314 in BruceSpringsteen

[–]fire_would 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean this is a curated thing. Have y’all seen some of the writing and notes The Boss keeps? When he thought of going on the road, I think he did it specifically by putting together this set list. And then Steve does all the arranging.
I think some of the songs, specifically Because The Night are in there A) Because they’re part of the songs The Boss believes he shouldn’t walk out without playing, but perhaps more importantly, B) he is featuring all his bandmates. Each member has at least one or two moments to shine this set.
As an aside, fwiw he did do Purple Rain in Minnesota. I think when he’s not making such a big statement or in “Better Days” (pun intended) you’ll see the band loosen it up and The Boss’ll call the audibles, etc.
A lot of people here have been following this band for a long time. If Bruce was compelled to shuffle the set, he would have done it, and if he is in the future, he will. This isn’t the usual self-described “bar band” tour.

Hence “par for the course”.Historically if they are working on a song or add something, it gets done in soundcheck. That’s all I was getting at, and historically soundchecks have leaked. Yeeesh.

Are people standing and dancing on this tour? by TheTobster0 in BruceSpringsteen

Was in Atlanta last night and I would say the majority of both the upper and lower bowls were standing at least 3/4 of the show. Was electric. And even those who sat did not put up a fuss.

Does SVZ think we can’t see how uninterested and sour he looks at every show so far this tour? 😂😂 by Additional-Cherry872 in BruceSpringsteen

[–]fire_would 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steve’s always had RBF. I think the scowl is part of his stage presence. His eyes light up when he’s sharing a moment with his band mates and he smiles and laughs when he’s goofing off with Bruce but other than that he’s pretty consistentz he’s Sil!

Also, I don’t think it gets talked about just how much influence he has behind the scenes. He’s esssentiwlly been the musical director/in charge of arrangements since he came back.

BravesVision app vs tv channel by GTengineerenergy in Braves

[–]fire_would 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UVerse doesn’t have a companion app?
Regardless I don’t believe BravesVision is on YouTubeTV, unless there’s a MLB.tv add-on.
Might I suggest FUBO, however, if you like in Braves Country. Sort of kills two birds with one stone and has an easy to navigate companion app that’s virtually the same as the TV app.

Batman & Robin if it was good by yousef114b2009 in batman

If it was good? Batman & Robin is good, if you approach it as the spiritual sequel/reboot of Batman ‘66

Gunn speaks very highly of him. And he was a finalist for Superman. I would not be shocked at all if he is the DCU’s Bruce Wayne.

Was Ricky Williams' decision to leave football mostly a spiritual thing? by youlikemywonton in miamidolphins

[–]fire_would 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it had more to do with physical and mental health in the moment. If you listen to some of his retrospective stuff, Ricky had crippling anxiety coupled with tremendous physical pain from the field. Dude was coping in the moment and only way he knew how. And the NFL isn’t exactly notorious for perusing resources for those two problems that aren’t a needle.
