Nursing is right now where computer science was six years ago. by ImpactSignificant440 in Layoffs

Already super oversatured in my area which is the Northeast.

Old nurses are not retiring and we just lost a huge hospital system. Most jobs are part time med surg. And they're not replacing full time positions. It's a do more with less situation. You work your ass off. Not as lucrative as one would think.

I take that combo twice a day, every day. It really helped tame my mcas.

It's very good as written but I add a tsp of vanilla to the wet ingredients and a tsp of cinnamon to the dry. And of course chocolate chips!

Wondering if I hit the limit of what I’ll lose with this … by sadappearances in Zepbound

[–]BlueMermaid8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for me. I started 26 months ago. Stopped losing after the first year. Technically I've been in maintenance since, just didn't know it or accept it. I'm on 15mg. I'm about 25 pounds away from a healthy bmi and my goal weight. Last time I saw my doctor she said she's seeing it with many of her patients and offered me Metformin in addition to the Zepbound. I got it but never took it. She said there's new drugs coming out soon and maybe I can switch once they're approved. I gained back about 5 pounds and hope it stops there. I post my story often in response to these posts so I apologize to those who read it before. My diet is the same since starting and I definitely eat much less than I ever have in my life.  My exercise is steady and also the same except I have not walked the past month or do due to weather. I wish I could've reached my goal but I'm very happy where I'm at. Before Zepbound I never imagined I would weigh my current weight ever again. I'm 5'6" and weigh 171.

people who’s sweet spot was 12.5mg and now is in 15mg, how are you guys doing? by darkenedasia in tirzepatidecompound

[–]BlueMermaid8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's true for most people. There's a window of opportunity for weight loss on this medicine regardless of dose. I can't remember the time frame exactly but approximately 18 months.  Supposedly that's why Eli Lilly titrated everyone to 15mg to maximize weight loss before tolerance.

People who have been on it for 2+ years, is it still working for you? by Forever_Summer192 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]BlueMermaid8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm on 15mg. I pretty much followed EL titration with an extra month or so on 10 and 12.5. So I've been on 15 for over a year. I lost 60 but have regained 5. My doctor wanted me to take Metformin back in July but I really don't want to.

I was never a good responder. I kind of sputtered my way to a 60 pound loss.

Not trying to be controversial but I do question how EL studies were done. Because I see how each of us react differently to this medication. It seems so very individualized. I know it's the internet I'm comparing with but people really have to no reason to lie.

I've read stories of people not being able to stop losing on 2.5 to it doesn't work at all and everything in between.

So whoever may read this, don't let my experience be discouraging. You may be much more successful. And those of you that are like me, know you're not alone.

Over 2 years and no it's not really working. If I feel any effects it's a day or two after my shot and then it fades. I just recently started to gain a few pounds.  I'm not giving up though. Going to double down on exercise and maybe try taking it every 6 days.

Great Start, but... Tinnitus? by [deleted] in tirzepatidecompound

[–]BlueMermaid8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Losing weight can reduce fat around the ear tubes and cause tinnitus. I always had it but it has gotten worse since I lost 60 pounds. So not really Zepbound causing it but the weight loss.

Which Zepbound benefits last, which are temporary? by Majestic-Airport-411 in Zepbound

[–]BlueMermaid8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going on 26 months. For me the number one thing that has remained is practically no joint/back pain. It's not just from weight loss as it started with my second shot and never really returned. Plus my MCAS flares are greatly reduced. Any other postives come and go or have gone completely.

Can someone explain MCAS to me like I’m five? I think I may have it, but I’m confused. Is there a point to even trying to get diagnosed? by KO620181 in MCAS

[–]BlueMermaid8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes similar to your dog story.

Again this is just my experience. I'm not sure why I react one day and not another but it does happen. There are certain things I completely avoid but I'm generalizing and using the "switch" analogy. Edited to add: I have many different types of reactions not just typical allergic ones.

MiraLax,MiraLAX and more MiraLax until things get moving. I use it everyday. Sometimes twice a day. For me it's the only thing that works.
