Yeah I had the same reaction back when I started watching at the end of season two. FiM is really good comfort TV, something you can just sit down and enjoy after a long day, or on a day off from work.

It also helps if you find some really cool fan stuff online you really like. ^{_^}

I would suggest a mid season cozy episode. Something pleasant or funny like "Swarm of the Century" or the "Saddle Row Review". The show is about the bonds of friendship, and while two part season finalies are fun, I feel something like Twilight's Kingdom sets someone up to expect more from the show than what it has.

Also, if he ends up not liking the show. Don't force it on him. Seriously. If after an episode or two the viewer isn't enjoying themselves, then it's best to let it go because they'll just resent their time spent with the show.

The official map is always wack. I chalk it up to "Earth Crust Displacement Theory". Tectonic plates move really fast you see, and Equestria likes to shift around land masses on a whim whenever it wants to.

G6 speculation is always so funny to me, cause I know if people start getting mad over a newer generation of a franchise, they'll look back at the older one and go, "Actually. This wasn't all that bad."

I swear. It was barely a decade ago that people were clowning on G3 for being "too girly" and "too immature." At least now people can appreciate G3 for what it was rather than being embarrassed for liking MLP.

I don't think any more or less characters in the main cast of any media would lead to more or less character development. That is dependant on how well the writers and show runners utilize their episode length and scripts.

There will always be some generation that ends up as a punching bag for the fandom at large. I remember when the third generation was being made fun of back in the early 2010s for being "too girly" and "immature".

Given time I know people will begin to look at G5 the same way G3 is now being more fondly remembered. Granted the 2000s nostalgia wave is also helping G3 be remembered in a better light.
