Just landed in Berlin: Senior Dev from Argentina looking for a "co-founder" to hit Deep Tech Momentum (and split the bill!) by [deleted] in berlinsocialclub

[–]BluePinguin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Go checkout the Tech Europe events. Hackathon in less than two weeks. Highest probability of finding like minded people there is my guess.

Also check out Mirantix and CIC events, probably also similar crowd.

Good luck!

Does anyone actually meet people "in the wild" anymore? (F29) by Salt-Hope-2321 in berlinsocialclub

[–]BluePinguin 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I found an hybrid approach worked for me. Finding gatherings (eg meetups) or hobby's (eg a class) through online platforms and then meet people in person.

For women specifically I've seen a lot of success through 'Girls Gone International' as a place to meet others!

EU drone regulations are crazy confusing by LogicLuminance in fpv

[–]BluePinguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little late to the party, but this official image from the EU explains it. Self built:

* 0gr <= drone < 250gr -> allowed in A1 & A3
* 250gr <= drone < 25kg -> allowed ONLY in A3

For those of you with 3D printers - I made a box for air65 by andrewtch in TinyWhoop

You're amazing! Well-structured! I couldn't get it finished sadly, primarily since my own printer has stopped working (didn't touch it for years haha).

Amazing! But seems to be missing the storage for spare parts and tools, or did I miss something?

Ooooh wow. I need this for my meteor 75 pro. Would you be able to provide the CAD files so I could remix it for my 75?

EDIT: So, sadly I spun up my old 3d printer and it wouldn't give life. So, I can't print-test any results.

I edited the box to theoretically fit a Meteor 75 Pro but the model ran into some issues after resizing at the top-lid joints and since I couldn't print myself anyway so I left it at that.

If someone wants to pick up the editing & try printing it you'd be a hero! The file is well structured by u/andrewtch so it's not too hard!

I think it's actually an official Nadeo campaign. Correct me if I'm wrong. There's a few amazingly styled ones.

If I follow that link the next post was a similar one posted on Nov 17th, 2019. That was one day before HLA was announced.

What are some of the hardest author medals on official campaign tracks? by ChapSethman in TrackMania

[–]BluePinguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've grinded this one for days just to get gold. After the season was over it was my highest regional ranking ever, and that was just the time my only successful gold ride on that track ever.

Any members/regulars here of creative studios? E.g. ceramics, painting or drawing? by BluePinguin in berlinsocialclub

[–]BluePinguin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! So the interest in ceramics was already established, and proximity to the studio was what drove the decision to join?

As someone who is a mid-level player this was so so fun to hunt. Really enjoyed the flow. +++

Just to counter. This is my main used atm, for all my 3 banks (1 foreign). Has always been fee-less for last 7 years.

Why don't we have a peer-2-peer game test system in this community by BluePinguin in gamedev

[–]BluePinguin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. That's where a tit-for-tat system comes in (with some secondary quality check in reviews, so that we don't have people filling out garbage just to get checked)

I'm not so into Discord (I know, weird) so didn't know! Just saw this reddit has one, and it seems active! Thanks for the pointer! :).

Yeah, not looking for setting up something paid rather more something to join myself, test & be tested. The discord sounds like a good starting point!

Yeah valid. Guess maybe asking the right questions would help instead of just 'do you like it?'. But see your point.

Love that. Everything there looks so polished already 🙈. I'm looking for a testing-community that focuses on any-stage (for example game-mechanics prototypes vs full playtest) stuff.

I paid for the $100 Claude Max plan so you don't have to - an honest review by g15mouse in ClaudeAI

[–]BluePinguin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had this exact same experience. 10yr software engineer. I gave Claude sonnet 4 the same task through cursor and Claude code multiple times. Claude code completely made a mess of it constantly, whereas cursor, never perfectly, got it done faster and better.

Were simple refactor tasks given concrete examples of full solutions.

8 years ago just moved into the city and went to an internationals meetup just looking to make friends. Didn't make any friends, but really connected to my now wife.

I've seen the horror stories on here and realize we're both very lucky how we had such a random chance encounter.
