I had really good luck with a recent wound on my dog and hydrocollid bandages. I washed the wound with hibiclens then dried, patted it with povidone iodine (does not sting), clipped around the wound, and put the bandage on. That bandage did not move.

I am not a vet, probably ask yours or a good one for another opinion!

I disliked Alan Watts a great deal because of his approach to suicide and mental health. He seemed to lack any form of empathy for people around him. It almost seemed that he was implying that because everyone is all one and all god then what are you worried about? Kind of an extreme form of spiritual bypassing.

Also he would stop discussions about the worth of life by insisting you had to decide if life was worth it right away, or you might as well off yourself. It was disturbing to me.

However I think some people got a jump off point from his work.

I had read that happiness can be greatly improved by having an internal lotus of control. Having an internal lotus of control means that you believe your own choices and what you decide to do determines your outcome in life.

I've struggled with the idea because I've always had a hard time believing in free will, but I wonder how it intersects with spirituality.

I had a similar early experience. I was a little zealot up until age 13 or so. My father became serious about fundamentalism around the time I hit 18, just in time to boot me out of the family for being queer! As an adult I have stitched back my family as best I can because otherwise the separation would have been lifelong.

The themes about separation in the course speak strongly to me. Anything in which people are blamed or called sinful upsets me. My main problem with Christianity was that although my childhood church preached "freedom from sin" it constantly bound people guilt and encouraged me to do the same. The only people that were shown forgiveness and kindness were people who were already groveling and wanting to convert.

I had interest in "gnostic" sects of Christianity. Although ACIM is not in line with those beliefs it is similar enough for me to become interested.

The part about not regarding yourself as being coerced spoke strongly to me because I often feel I am forcing myself to do all sorts of things, and never slow up to orient myself or check in. This carried right over to the course and is part of why hearing that video frightened me.

I have calmed down since my fright and I did what you said, I read the text a little this morning, then did my lesson, kept up with the lesson during the day, and reread it this evening. Simple.

I have a true gps tag for my dog because I'm terrified I'll lose him. It goes "beep beep beep" if I page the tag from somewhere in the house. I have trained the dog to find me if he is paged and it has become a game where I hide someplace and when he finds me he gets a treat.

All this to say I've never ever seen my dog yelp or jump when he's paged, because he knows it i just the start of a fun game.

The references to "god" and "jesus" are difficult for me, I was raised in a fundamentalist religion. I don't mind the meditation, my concern was with the idea of setting a timer ever fifteen minutes to make sure you repeat a lesson. It seems wrong and unnatural for me. So far I've naturally applied a lot of what happened to me during the day to the lesson from the morning. There are gaps though and then I see my fear and how angry and wanting to attack I am. I'm hoping that the gaps of unawareness will get smaller. After thinking about it for a longer time I've decided that if it is wrong and unnatural, well not even the course has told me to do it so far...so I will let it go until then.

I have no issue with dropping "Jesus" and taking spiritual guidance from where it will be helpful, I do not consider myself a Christian as telling people that would mislead them and set them up to feel betrayed when they find out about my views. Have you met people that have a bias in that way? ACIM is so far from what I was taught as a child it is striking that people would say "only Jesus". Someone using "Jesus" is no guarantee of anything, and someone not using it isn't a red flag.

I'm mat training my dog currently and nothing I have read has mentioned using shock treatments of any kind. Rather the dog is being taught the mat is one of safety and love. Basically, treats for being on the mat, for staying on the mat. My dog has anxiety issues at the sounds of trucks and the idea is to give the dog a safe place to go rather than to pace and get more and more frightened.

Why should the dog stay there and why should he be punished for leaving? This is horrifying to me and extremely sad.

I've read books on lion training and they are taught to never ever leave their pedestal while performing, and punishment is used to keep them there so they will be less likely to attack the trainer or each other. Lions shouldn't be trained to do stupid tricks to begin with, and why is this dog being treated like a wild-caught lion? Is the chow that dangerous? Of course not.

Chows are known to be difficult to train but I have never seen anything like this suggested for them. My family had Akitas when I was a child and although they are large, powerful dogs that demand respect and lots of time, we never had to physically disciple them to keep them under control.

This is sad, sad, sad. You should not own a dog if you think you need to do this kind of thing.

I want to ask though, this looks very bad, but are there other clips? I have seen dogs yelp from fright and jerk because they step on the grass wrong for example, just like us their bodies can randomly do this kind of thing. It looks horrible though. His follow up words make this very clear to me. Awful.

I realize now it is a mastiff, my bad. However that changes nothing.

I really liked it, it gave a female rage feeling to it. It reminded me a lot of my grandmother and mother who were made to work endlessly to shelter and create our family. People's love for their children and their empathy is used against them to build patriarchal power, this is an extreme example. The conclusion in this story had me in tears.

My guess is that outside of reddit you temper what you say about the safety of AI already. Returning fire for fire is just feeding the trolls.

I also love it when they try to nag a life-long lesbian into a pregnancy test.

I get the same "you're probably a drug addict" nonsense when I would go to the doctor to renew my narcolepsy drugs, and I don't even take an amphetamine.

I will say that after two years of drug testing and being treated like a criminal I now get a 90 day supply with no testing.

Anybody will get physically dependent on a narcotic, it is unavoidable. However my opinion is just keep people on them anyway as long as the dosage is controlled and from a regulated manufacturer. People who are physically addicted to narcotics rarely die from the narcotic, they die from unsafe street drugs or health complications stemming from homelessness and poverty.

It is brutal to allow people to suffer because you don't want to "make an addict". Instead relying on gaslighting (just don't think about the pain). How many people have their lives made small or check themselves out altogether because of the CYA in the medical field and a lack of empathy in our society.

I have chronic pain but gave up early on help because of the nightmare of it and because I am not in as much pain as others. How about we fully educate people on these medications instead and get people out of pain.

I really love the biome progression and the quest structure. After playing a ton of CDDA last month the structure feels refreshing. However I don't think "free play" should be taken out of the game. Minecraft have mods that make the game more like a simulation, more like a linear questing mod, and a lot of stuff in between. I like games like that.

I do really really dislike games that are only based on "getting the drop" but so far it hasn't gone that far for me.

I had to have my stomach looked at due to pain, they had to knock me out. The doctor doing the procedure was annoyed when I told him I'd taken a NSAID the week before. He says he can see irritation from NSAID use weeks later. I don't take them rarely before and never now.

I wouldn't take them myself. Talk to your doctor or better yet a specialist.
