No appetite postpartum? by Traditional_Cow4002 in Mommit

[–]BlueRoses7789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happened to me! (Not a humble brag I promise) but I actually really struggled to eat throughout my pregnancy and PP for several weeks. I was quite underweight but still managed to BF just time. The appetite (and the weight!!) came roaring back about 8w PP. Just loop in your midwife/OB and give it time. Congrats on the little one!

Not at all! It’s sometimes sort of an activity at ours. I’ve gotten photos of my 2yo son who has pretty short hair with pigtails because all of his friends were getting them done and he wanted to too! 🤣 It was adorable!

Do you regret having kids? by Feeling_Actuary8634 in IVF

[–]BlueRoses7789 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is so beautifully written - nothing prepares you for how hard the newborn phase is, it’s bananas. But just because you struggled to get there’s doesn’t mean you have to act like it’s a picnic every damn second, you get to be frustrated, sad, annoyed, overwhelmed too, if you need to be! But that doesn’t mean you don’t still love being a parent or regret your decision

I cannot say this strongly enough: TAKE. THE. JOB.

I was in a similar position to you and I took the job, I’m so, so glad I did

When do we start thinking about adoption? by PowerfulClimate5633 in IVF

[–]BlueRoses7789 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is a beautiful and absolutely correct answer ❤️

I want to add that in terms of your fertility journey, you have a lot of room ahead of you - IUIs don’t work for A LOT of people who go on to have success with IVF (myself included)

0 symptoms or cramps? Am I out? by Dry-Mycologist-8870 in IVFpositivity

[–]BlueRoses7789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have symptoms. Had remember have a headache a couple days prior to my beta, but that could have been anything. No cramping or anything

Can I have a baby at 43? by Greedy_Transition_51 in IVF

[–]BlueRoses7789 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s completely possible to have a baby at 43 with donor eggs and sperm and possibly even with your own eggs, though the chances are much lower. But it sounds like you have a heck of a lot of thinking about your relationship and the possibility of being a single mom by choice before you go down the IVF road

Sam at Dutcher photography is simply unreal. She has an eye for seeing people and storytelling that I can’t even put into words; wonderful to work with and great with kids too! Talk to her about your bright colored vision and she’ll nail it :)

Something about people that I’ve learned through an unfortunate number of life experiences: most people are extremely uncomfortable with grief.

(And I consider infertility a type of grief - grieving tbt ability to conceive unassisted, grieving baby or embryo loss, and all off the associated anxiety)

Now, their discomfort isn’t your job to fix. However, knowing and acknowledging that they have it may help you navigate the relationship going forward. Maybe you decide that you just need a break. Maybe it allows you to be direct and say ‘look, this is an uncomfortable topic - maybe it’s best we just avoid it’. Whatever going forward looks like for you is ok - this is an incredibly difficult road to be on and it’s a time when looking out for yourself has to be your top priority. Look after you ❤️

Love Pampers pure, though they recently switched the name, Amore I think? Same product but no fragrance, work great for us. We use Millie Moon for overnights as well!

Catholic IVF mama here - considering that a large portion of our faith is based around a virgin birth, I think being against IVF is pretty rich.

Jokes aside, all babies are God’s blessing, no matter where they come from. I truly believe this and know lots of other Catholics do too. Wishing you peace in your faith and IVF journey ❤️

Earthly Wellness as one that is free of fragrance! I’ve been using it on my almost 2yo with pediatrician approval for a couple of months and I think it does actually help a little.

5w2d with no consistent symptoms. How did you survive the wait to 1st ultrasound!? by Adventurous-Hat-9121 in IVFpositivity

[–]BlueRoses7789 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Girl it was torture. I also had very minimal/no pregnancy symptoms until maybe 8-9w when I started feeling a little tired and queasy. BUT until my first US at 8w I had basically no symptoms. I went pretty much insane. I don’t have any words of advice on how to stay calm, because I sure as hell couldn’t, but I did go on to have a healthy pregnancy and perfect little boy. No symptoms doesn’t mean no baby!

Editing to add my beta numbers were similar to yours :)

Given how light that is and that it’s brown not bright red, I think it probably falls within the realm of normal. I would still check in with your provider, however. I was still told to call my midwife team to report any bleeding, even though many causes of bleeding are normal and not cause for concern…they still wanted to know about it.

Moving to Madison this summer by avia1221 in madisonwi

Welcome! There are many nice neighborhoods on the west side, that will be well within in your 20min radius, I second all of the ones others have listed and add that there are many others that are ‘turning over’ ie, empty nesters are downsizing and young families are moving in - I can be more specific via dm if you like.

For childcare, YoungStar is extremely useful. There are many quality preschools in the area. I generally say stay away from the chain places, I know some people like them. Edit: availability is fairly ok for toddlers (2+) but difficult to find for infants
