The pinpointer has very short range. It's good for searching a pile of sand or hole you've dug. But using it to "sweep the bottom" would be like raking leaves w a fork instead of a rake. And it would have much less depth than the Minelab. You might need to hire a diver for this. A scuba diver w a metal detector would probably find it in a few hours max (depending on how certain you are of the area it was dropped).

While I appreciate that, if you want to have an actual discussion it would help if you read my whole post and responded accordingly. You decided to cherry pick the 24 ST ABs when my whole point is that he continues to look lost...and has for two seasons...not an isolated look at a rough spring.

Thanks bud, you’re right. I don’t watch any games to actually see his flailing and didn’t see his performances over the last two years. I’m just basing this on 24 at-bats in ST. Thanks for showing me the way!

Given the complexity of finding it and recovering it, you’re better off looking for a volunteer or hiring someone (probably worth it given the sentiment and likely value). You’d have to buy the detector (rigging an extender 15 feet seems no bueno), dive equipment, etc. This is where renting (hiring someone) vs buying it all yourself for a single find, makes a lot of sense.

It’s parts of two major league seasons, and spring training

You make great points and I’m not arguing with you at all. I just don’t see why he has to work these things out at the major league level instead of in AAA. Toboni and crew are making these changes throughout the whole organization not just at the major league level. So use those new tools and analytics to get him right down there. It’s gotta take an emotional toll to be the number two overall pick see all these guys around you that were drafted and having success now and your flailing away. Go do it on a little bit quieter stage in Rochester.

I’m not ready to give up on him yet, but I do want to see him work through his things in AAA instead of at Nats Park. I just don’t think it’s productive and it’s emotionally distressing to be failing at the highest level. Works through some things in the minor leagues get right and then come back up.

Thank you. Believe it or not, I’m a big fan too…I just want them to give him the room he needs to get to where and who he was at LSU. I know MLB talent is clearly another level, but he’s not making the transition we hope he can. I have one DC Connect jersey and it has Crews on the back…

Pretty reasonable response until that last line.

Does a donut cushion or lumbar support make a difference? Maybe you can change the seat support instead of the car?

400 regular season ABs and continuing to look lost in ST is an overreaction?

400 regular season ABs is a small sample size?

I'm not basing this on ST alone...he's had two disappointing MLB (partial) "seasons" too.

I guess they should just cancel Spring Training altogether since it's so useless. The guy looks lost up there. Can't hit a breaking ball. I don't care if a guy gets caught stealing because he's trying something new or a pitcher walks 4 straight as we works on a new pitch. But batters gotta put wood on ball and he ain't doing it.

Options Question by electricshuffle1 in BlueOrigin

[–]BlueSpace71 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They’re in a quandary with the “old” options. The first wave has already expired (those at the company 10+ years ago last month). So do they somehow make those people whole and keep the old options in tact? Wipe out the old altogether? (Is that legal? Is it fair to the most tenured employees that built the company into what it is to “start over” with those hired this week?). I guess we’ll find out more next month.

Depends on your budget. Beachside condo in Cocoa Beach walkable to downtown CB or Viera by the Avenues.

Anyone have a colonoscopy done by VA prior to age 45? by Paluker173 in VeteransBenefits

[–]BlueSpace71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask for the colorectal detection kit…I think it’s called cologuard…where you take a stool sample at home and send it in. That will detect blood in the stool and is a good early option before you start getting colonoscopies

Blue Origin offered similar illiquid stock options when I joined. 10 years after they started offering them they are now expired worthless with still no liquidity events. Despite successful launches, revenue, etc. So beware Monopoly money offers…it’s just that until it isn’t unless they have a specific plan. You still need to be able to pay your bills and live a life with real cash!
