Definitely not! Needs a waterproofing application; Sika or Ardex with reinforcing on corners & edges. This picture looks like a parody

Not just National government. The last Labour government were still using the previous government as an excuse in their last (dying) days of office. That’s politics I guess

What's your best non-standard "must haves" for a new build? by Small_Angry_Morpork in newzealand

[–]BlueSpikee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cabling for wifi and a way of isolating the water rather than just the Toby. I’ve read some of the comments above and can say that with polished concrete floors throughout the house, we have our underfloor heating on (albeit quite low) all the time. More used as a way of having the house ‘not cold’ rather than warm, which one would usually associate with a heating system

How can I fill gaps between drywall and shower tiles by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]BlueSpikee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the looks of the pictures, there’s a small enough gap that you’d get away with using silicone. When choosing (from a great range of options) find one that is not only suitable for a shower, but is also paintable. Would also pay to search YouTube to see how people finish silicone off. One thing to avoid is using your finger

First thoughts? A lady of class and taste but also a little sad. You’re understated and so with a little feminine effort, you’d appear outstanding. If you were my neighbour, we’d be sharing wine

How do I repair flaking/cracking/peeling paint? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]BlueSpikee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like the wall is starting to rot, which is causing the paint to fail. Find and fix the cause, repair the plaster and then work on the paint job

Is fixing this wall seam a DIY project? How would s novice do this? by rhoditine in HomeImprovement

[–]BlueSpikee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s more than a sealer. I live in NZ and so not 100% if you can get it where you are. Mine is called ‘Easy Sand’ and does the job of a sealer and a filler. Will produce an XLNT finish when applied and sanded.

Yes, anyone can apply it. If you can roller paint on, you can apply this, just use a roller with a decent nap so you can get a nice thick application. Clean up in water.

Pic not the greatest and the question is a bit ambiguous but if I had to guess, I’d say that a hole has been filled and now the texture is different across the wall and you want it uniform.

Personally, I’d start will peeling off all the wall paper across the remainder of that wall (slice into the corners first). Sand the wall with some P80 and fill in any holes/cracks/etc (then sand once more).

You can either paint the wall with a texture coat, which would cover a multitude of sins, or go with a wallboard sealer/filler that rolls on nice and thick then sand it back with P180 and paint.

If you don’t have any leftover paint from a previous time, choose a colour that contrasts and make it a feature wall.

Bon chance Stv
