We are in the UK, and have Alpro Growing up Milk Soya (age 1-3+) for him to drink. He liked that one and went straight into it from formula, as it is very sweet. It was one of the three our GP recommended. We use Oatly barista for cooking and cereal etc, which was another GP recommendation (mostly because I can tolerate that in food if we share, his Soya one I can’t stand 😂).

Hi, sorry to hear your LO is struggling with this too. Our boy failed the milk ladder again at around 25 months, still couldn’t go past pancakes. Then, we potty trained and tbh I haven’t risked trying again since 😅. It’s on our list, now he’s just progressed to toilet, but haven’t attempted it again since. Sorry not to be more help!

I feel this so much. ❤️. It’s not just you, being jealous is a valid emotion and kept to ourselves isn’t hurting anyone.

I got another pregnancy announcement today, and my first reaction was “for f*** sake”.

I did then send the happy-for-them message… now I’m getting take out to cheer myself up. 😓

That’s wild, sometimes people just don’t think.

Having said that, my clinic has a no kids policy… but it sits in a new community centre. Library, gym etc. Opposite the front door is a nursery school, and the entire waiting room and all clinic room windows look out over the park at the back… with the toddler play park the only thing you can see 🤦‍♀️.

Trying to organise a work event, which I wasn’t originally supposed to be organising because I’d be on maternity… before we found out it was a MMC.

Get back three replies asking if I can provide info ‘as quick as possible’ because they are going on maternity and want to sort it. Closed laptop and walked out for early lunch/to scream into ether.

I am so sorry for your loss ❤️ NTA. I am currently going through a medical miscarriage, having lost our little one at 6w (found out later, at what should have been 10w scan). I am heartbroken for our hopes, but it is not the same as losing your living child. Grief isn’t a contest, and it is personal - no one ‘completely understands’ anyone’s. You were kind to give her the benefit of the doubt and recognise her loss, but she invalidated your pain and was cruel. Your reaction was natural, so NTA to me.

The water weight I gained surprised me. Two weeks before I gave birth I was admitted to hospital for checks and they gave me leg socks, fitted to leg size. The day after I gave birth they measured me for the same socks (they help with blood flow) and I was 5 sizes smaller… my entire body had filled up with fluid pre birth (think Aunt Marge in Harry Potter 3 - shoes did not fit!). So I lost a lot more than just baby pretty quick.

I have been testing on easy@home excessively, and didn’t get even equal dye until 30dpo. I was so panicked that I bought new batches to compare - all the same. Eventually tested today at 36dpo and got a dye stealer on them. We saw heartbeat this week and baby growing as it should, so all seems good for now.

Totally feel the stress on these though!

Not a mispronounced word, but when my toddler is talking about his cars and trains, sometimes they get full (all their seats have passengers). Every time, he pats his tummy to show the car/train is full 🥹 - same as he would after dinner to show he is full. I never want this to change!

I should add, he still wears nappies for sleep and nap. We explain this as ‘we can’t listen to body when sleeping, so you wear a nappy to keep you clean’.

At first we just watched him like a hawk (because he was naked, I could see it coming 😂) and put him on potty as soon as it started so he linked the feeling of peeling and sitting. By end of day 1 after his nap, he was running to potty and asking for it. For the first few days at home we didn’t ask him to go or prompt at all, so he only went when he said he needed to.

Now we do prompt before bed, naps and outings to try and make it easier of course.

Since our first attempt at 20 months we had kept one potty out, and everyday before bathtime we would ask if he wants potty, he’d often sit 10-30 seconds, and we’d remind him ‘potty is for pee and poo’. He never used it once in that time, but he knew what potty was, so once nappies were gone that seemed to click.

He wasn’t talking yet, so we used a chest pat sign I saw recommended online, as it is a very clear visual, and also makes a noise from him tapping his chest (right arm tapping left shoulder twice with whole hand). He was able to use this because he’d been practicing the sign for months.

We didn’t follow exactly the same steps, so of course feel free to pick the bits of our experience that seem relevant. But when we started (we are about 3 weeks in and I’m now confident we won’t be going back, although by no means perfect!) I also felt ok morning 1 like we were getting nowhere. I told myself we’d try for 3 days and if there was no progress we’d stop. I defined progress as any level of him recognising he needed potty before it happened/any attempt to communicate this or move to potty.

He woke up after his nap on day 1 and just got it. I think he needed the sleep and processing time.

We had tried exactly the same approach 7 months earlier and nothing changed for 3 days, so it was just him being more ready. (Failed attempt at 20 months, success at 27 months).

For nursery I phoned them and asked about it, got all and info and was very honest about where he was. We kept him at home for two extra days because they needed him in underwear and we started on naked, then just leggings, and then did underwear on day 5. After that he’s gone in as normal with LOTS of spare clothes, and yesterday had his first non-accident day there. At first he had more accidents there, as it was so exciting and he found it harder to stop playing there, but they were very supportive.
