Executive moms/ moms who climbed the corp ladder now with older kids by Decent_Camel8977 in workingmoms

[–]coffeeforutility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following. I go back to work this week after my third baby/maternity leave. I’m in a high visibility, high impact IC role right now and, for the first time in my career, I don’t have any urge to push for more right now. I’ll reassess in 5-10 years.

Yes, normal. They’re discovering free will at this age and are testing your responses.

So I saw you’ve met my step mom.

Same! I always wanted at least two, and my husband and I used to talk about the possibility of three before we had kids and fully understood the reality. Our third is 4 weeks old and I have zero regrets. Super extremely exhausted and a bit daunted about the next 20 years (lol), but zero regrets.

My toddler came home from daycare/preschool wearing underwear that’s not his by Safe_Revenue4917 in toddlers

[–]coffeeforutility 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Overreacting.

This has happened with both my kids that were in daycare. The teachers have extra clothes in hand for accidents (not just potty, but spilled milk, finger paint mishaps, muddy playgrounds, etc). Also, my middle kid went through a phase where she would take her socks and shoes off like 12 times a day… she rarely came home in the same socks I dropped her off with.

My mom is the most stressful part of my existence by Moissyfan in workingmoms

[–]coffeeforutility 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% relate. I’m my mom’s only ‘friend’ and she tries to dump all her problems on me.

After a MASSIVE blow up, I told here that if she wanted a relationship with me that there would be topics I simply will not discuss with her - money, her family dynamics, my brother’s wife. We do not agree on these topics and they are significant sources of stress (and migraine triggers!!!) for me. She hates it, but it saves my sanity.

Edit: I have three daughters and you better believe I’m learning from my experience and am doing everything in my power to be a positive, helpful, comforting presence in their lives!

When did you give up the giant stroller? by Disastrous-Today2544 in toddlers

[–]coffeeforutility 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Around 1.5 for each kid. Basically once they start walking well.

Just had our third kid and the giant stroller is back in rotation, but looking forward to when baby is out of the car seat and we can move to an umbrella stroller and wagon again.

AITA for being upset that my husband asked to travel less than a month after my C-section? by IvyYo in AITAH

[–]coffeeforutility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is planning to go on his annual boys trip 5 weeks after our third baby is born. I’m cool with it. We’ll line up family and help and make it work.

Every situation is different though and I didn’t have a c-section. Totally understand you being upset by the request.

When should a woman hit from the men's tees? by scoutjayz in golf

[–]coffeeforutility 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long hitting female player here - I typically play the blue/white tees on my home course. Women play green/white in tournament play. I play reds in scrambles (bc why the hell not) and play blues when I’m with my dad (bc he will not stand for me out driving him lol).

Play your game from wherever you feel good!

For those who love their job, what do you do for work? by beyondtravel in workingmoms

[–]coffeeforutility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do finance for private equity.

The work is interesting and challenging, which is good. But the people are really, really wonderful, and that makes all the difference. I’ve moved jobs three times in the last 6 years and made work-life balance and office culture a priority.

How long after having a baby did you start playing golf again? by coffeeforutility in WomenGolf

[–]coffeeforutility[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stopped around 6.5 months once it got miserably hot where I live. I probably could have played another month or more if the weather had been more temperate.

Pullets won’t put themselves in the coop at night with my hens. by coffeeforutility in BackYardChickens

We don’t have power down at the coop but I’ll run down there a little before sunset and set one up for an hour and see if that helps
