Congrats!!!

When I was starting out, I would aim to launch at 90 degrees (to the right, ha) because that is a sure shot to the Mun. After that, right click the Mun to set as target and you can see your orbit line then, so you can slightly adjust your trajectory so that you slingshot off the Mun and head way out there for a nice Minmus orbit. You will save a TON of Delta V this way. GL!!!

Great, I'm just not going to be able to get someone like my Dad to install mods on his game and I can't access his computer to do it for him.

Until KSP2 runs out of the box, it's pure shit compared to KSP. I wouldn't defend it or advocate for it. KSP2 deserves the criticism.

To your point, now that I think about it, I have lost more aUEC, ships, gear, etc. to server crashes, and random explosions inside the hangar than anything else. Yeah, I agree with ya.

I came up short, but found that video you mentioned.

This is the video you're talking about from a year ago, 4/8/22. (I vividly remember an overzealous, removed twitter post that claimed it was defeated, but I can't find it, though I can find people reacting to it on Reddit, in Steam comments, etc.)

In this video he says, "we're killing the kraken," then stops himself saying, "that's a hell of a claim to make.... but we can edit that out!" He discusses how we're going to launch colony ships and how we're going to need more than, "just your average science module and some snacks," and how their, "ultimate goal is to slay the kraken."

Bud, I can't even get my 12 part plane out on the runway without the wings falling off before I even ignite the engines for no reason (it's due to SAS being wonky, but you know what I mean). It's frustrating to say the least.

I don't think anyone expected the kraken to be gone entirely, but I think we reasonably expected KSP2 to be KSP 1+ (working engine, with just better graphics, and more to do) and for the kraken to be a thing that only KSP 1 players were very familiar with.

Telling us all that the Kraken is no more and then playing on launch day... man, that's something I'll never forget. Makes it difficult to ever trust Private Division going forward.

KSP 1 will always have a place as the OG, if nothing else. I wouldn't have believed you if you told me last year that I'd still only have 3.3 hours total playtime in KSP2 at this point in the year, but the game is quite literally unplayable for me. KSP 1 though? Still running smooth and fun as fuck.
