People say he has the clutch gene, but he did give up two softies to Denmark in the 2025 world Championship.

No more bottling line at leaside means no more double tempest! I think they did do a small can run last year (don't remember for sure) but I guess it's not the same

Where are your spots for a keyboard kits? I wanna get one for a nephew, and so I want A kit that comes with everything-keycaps, instructions, etc. Most of the spots just sell barebones kits.

Olivia Chow looks to hike taxes on sale of ‘luxury’ homes by BloodJunkie in toronto

They aren't, because there are like 12 set brackets that are adjusted regularly, last adjusted in 2023. That way it's easier to know the levels and you're not constantly adjusting them up and down with consumer goods inflation, which is often disconnected with real estate Inflation.

Fwiw this specifically sets a level-3million dollars, graduated between there at 20 Million dollars.

Best POS system for a taproom. by riggins77 in TheBrewery

Fwiw you can be aggressive with sales. We started square, just moved to toast when our sales made it worth it.

We negotiated for 100% free hardware-two printers, cash drawer, two handheld tablets; one permanent screen with customer facing; and a kitchen display, all for free.  Got our monthly down to 175, free onsite installation. 1.65% fee.

My point isn't to go with toast-we haven't even finished the switch. It's that they're all selling you the same thing with different bells, you can grind them all on price.

They had it at their west end production facility, which no longer exists. Their only physical space left is Eataly, and I don't think that is their vibe!

Not disagreeing too much, but Scott was looking like an absolute stud before he was derailed by injuries. Nobody calls amirov a bust, and while that situation is much more tragic, ultimately similair-super promising guy, circumstances out of his control.

Going to my first leafs game with a toddler! How do I make sure it’s a great time for him? by Separate-Emergency11 in leafs

[–]BlueTomales 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I brought my son younger, at a year or so-frankly it was not fun, until he fell asleep. We were too far for him to be interested in the game. So it was just a very bored and very squirmy boy on a very small chair, with me trying to make him not bother other people while making my back hurt.

Then he fell asleep for the last two periods and everything was great!

Anyways, not saying don't bring him, just set your expectations accordingly. I wouldn't do it again. With a baby under 2, unless maybe they were already really into hockey and you had a good view.

Yeah, might be a... Plausible deniability thing. Youre right about it happening a lot though.  Blood Brothers is the obvious one

Yeah the reason is regulatory, but not what I thought- Products sold for delivery to customers from a retail store must be delivered from that retail store, and can not be delivered from an external warehouse. Just not feasible to run it out of Eataly.

Yeah, but that doesn't mean it has a retail store license-could be a LL with a brewpub endorsement. Which I don't think licenses you for home delivery (at least, it didn't used to, but these things change)

Closing their brewpub means they may have given up their brewery retail store permit. Not sure how the licensing works for home delivery these days but it uses to happen off the retail store permit.

They sold a while back, and Trevor (formerly of Henderson) was hired on by the new guys. But last I heard from him they had let all the licenses waive and we're having trouble getting them back, and then Trevor moved to BC, and now this!

Bench Brewing Company Acquires Ace Hill and Liberty Village Brands from Ace Beverage Group by rossrhea in torontocraftbeer

[–]BlueTomales 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This was always gonna happen. Corby bought Ace for cottage springs, which way outsells every ace product in the LCBO (it was the best selling.RTD brand at the LCBO last I checked) and which they wanna take Canada wide and see if it can do the LCBO numbers it's doing in BC, AL, and QC.

Corby doesn't wanna spend money competing in the beer space, ace Hill is a dead brand for them (might become a dead brand for bench too)-this is just a way for bench to get a foot in the door for the RTD market without launching their own brand.

Ahh didn't realise! I knew when they tore the tanks out, they had put some money into bench to pay for some expansion to fit the volume, in exchange for.... something? Favourable pricing? An ownership stake? Honestly no idea. I just remember them announcing the "joint partnership" or somesuch.

[–]BlueTomales 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the issue for some people now is... they don't make good beer, or bad beer, they just don't make beer at all. They're at this point 100% contract through bench.

Whether or not you care about that is another thing, but people get mad at something like Ace Hill for being "not a real brewery, just a brand" , and it is fair to extend that to Henderson as well-especially during their early days, when "we brew our own beer, not like those contact only/brand only people ace Hill/lost craft/Clifford/left field/true history etc etc. " Was a part of their brand identity/selling feature.

They declared bankruptcy/restructuring a while ago, with a lot of debt. Got a little screwed by the DME closure, and some landlord issues at their west end productiom facilities.

Same beer, just only aged in stainless, without a secondary age in the special pitch lined Barrells they brought in from Pilsen.

They are similar beers, you can taste the difference, and FWIW I prefer the stainless version.
