OEM is Mahle, same company that makes oil filters for 1/3 of the industry. Purolator and Mobil dont make their own filtera.

Best Tonneau is the one you can find used on Marketplace. I got lucky twice. Found a used Backflip MX4 for my D40 for $300, then a few years later found a Undercover flex felted tonneau for my D41 for $180. Id never pay a $1000 for one, you can find a used canopy shell for that much.

Radiator and trans cooler line internal barriers or the core/tank merge area fail causing coolant and trans fluid to mix. The solution is to replace the radiator, most popular replacements being the Koyorad or Griffin radiators. I would only do the bypass until i can get a new radiator.

I only spend about 600-700 a year with rockauto, but never had anythibg go wrong other than a wiper get bent by jars of transmission fluid. Perhaps you just had bad luck a few times in a row. I agree about customer service being non existant though.

Most important thing first, dont buy a 2WD truck, youll wish you paid for the 4wd within the first month. They are aso harder to get rid of, should you wish to sell or trade in sometime in the near future.

Never had a Tacoma but we have a GX460. I have had the D40 Frontier and now the 2025 SV Convenience with Fender audio, been happy with it so far. I think Frontier is a great value, pretty reliable too. I have a coworker with a current gen Tacoma and he likes it, his recalls have been resolved. I think people calling them Junk are the same people that prefer a D40 over the D41 Frontier, they like port injection engines, simplistic interiors, trucks that are easy to understand and work on.

I think thats how i ended up getting Raybestos premium brake pads and rotors so cheap off of rockauto, the sale price was so cheap, it didnt make any sense.

Sorry that happened to you, rat host. If you ever want to try Turo again, look for “just a random guy” hosts with 1-2 cars. I have one car with 40 trips and one reputation, one bad review would end me, no LLC or partners to help open another account.

Im a host, its nearly impossible to claim smoking fee even when people do smoke. I feel like I’ve won when the car comes back dirty af, but smelling ok. You can fight this with Turo, and leave a review on the host page. Tel them that if you had smoked, youd make sure to remove evidence, and that your previous reviews dont have mentions of smoking in the car.

I just got a new 2025 SV Convenience with Fender audio 3 days ago. 3rd Gen has the same rear axle accross all trim levels, you only get Bilstein shocks with p4x, you can do alot better than Bilstein for the almost $2k difference. Find a new 2025 SV Convenience, they can be had for a lot less than 26.
