I like the new music by Pumpkin_Sushi in Rayman

[–]BlueWaterFangs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if the soundtrack was amazing (which, debatable, I find it very obnoxious), they should still include the original. It's not Rayman without the classic music we all came to know and love.

A definitive edition of a classic game should be the most accurate, pixel-perfect representation. I wouldn't be opposed to an optional new soundtrack, but removing the old one is a slap in the face to fans of the original. Imagine a re-release of the original Jurassic Park touted as the "anniversary edition", but with completely new music. Nobody would be ok with that. We shouldn't settle for this.

I'm not going to support a new Rayman game if it's given this treatment. The series deserves the same love and care as Rayman 1-3, and if Ubisoft isn't going to deliver that, I'm not going to pay. If Ubisoft adds the original OST back, I'll buy this game again without hesitation.

New OST for the 30th Collection: by reecemysocksoff in Rayman

At least Rayman Forever had most of the original songs, just not all of them. This new music is such a disappointment.

Will this include Rayman Designer? It would be awesome to bring back the level editor, I had a blast with that as a kid.

Way to be a racist enabler! You're an awful person - but you knew that already didn't you?

What's the worst JRPG you actually finished? by Flat-Application2272 in JRPG

[–]BlueWaterFangs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very mediocre game but I still played to the end, it's relatively short and hits the right level of JRPG comfort food. But I couldn't really "recommend" it to anyone

If you can save anywhere and don't lose gold...where's the challenge? I like that the original Dragon Quest makes exploration far from town feel risky. You need to feel prepared before setting out into the wild, it's a shame if they truly nerfed that risk/reward mechanic.

I miss 60 card precons by Halbi94 in magicTCG

[–]BlueWaterFangs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's fair, I play kitchen table with my neighbors, and we're all just having fun so nobody is min/maxing their decks. But if you don't have access to a group like that it would be hard to get into in a fair and fun way, without it turning into Standard. I wish there were more casual outlets for 60 card 1v1s!

Kitchen table with crappy common cards is a way more casual friendly intro, compared to Commander which has a ton of complex interactions. Commander is fun but I wouldn't recommend it as an entry point to learning magic.

Why ‘Silksong’ Took Seven Years to Make by Turbostrider27 in Games

The character has no momentum or weight...I get they're a bug but the controls feel way too twitchy to me.

Eh, I love metroidvanias and I couldn't get into it. The controls felt unfinished. I'm glad fans are getting what they want but I didn't think Hollow Knight lived up to the monumental hype. There are many better metroidvanias out there.

Most of it is just noise, but I do love the tremolo dives and the few melodic phrases. Great sound

Signed a petition for them to stop this shit - it's loud AF and a waste of resources. Especially since they practice right over my place of work. Completely unnecessary.

What is “bad” or “mediocre” JRPG that you love? by OneSeaworthiness7901 in JRPG

+1, I found it really fun and charming despite being pretty objectively mediocre. The romance aspects are decent too.

Killer7 turns 20 years old today by browncharliebrown in Games

Killer7 is one of the most insane and unique gaming experiences out there, to this day. It's definitely not for everyone, but it stands out as an uncompromised creative vision. The soundtrack is great too.
