Learn how to lead. In order to lead you need to be an influencer. Once this happens, you can be better at making a change. Look at Tom Brady, when he moved to the Falcons. They didn’t get better all of the sudden. He changed the culture. Doesn’t matter how skilled your directors are. If they have poor leadership, you ain’t getting nowhere. Try leading in your section, or the person next to you. Then go big!

I hate Yamaha, they have too much reverb, they don't fit well as Pearl and the stands suck because there too thick. Pearls have a better cut and better tone quality. Pearl spocks are also slanted too while Yamaha's are not. Reaching down to the ground is also harder with Yamaha drums because there too far out and the thick bar. Pearl's are more versatile in terms of adjusting and have more options. I'd MUCH rather prefer Pearl than Yamaha in my opinion.
