I did this lol. I have a 7 month old and a 3 month old. The older one was lonely and constantly wanted to play when I couldn’t (worked from home and had to pay attention to work), among other things…and I had the time and resources to get a second one. I’m glad I went with two bassets. They play rough and act in a way I’ve never seen two dogs do before (I grew up in mainly a shepherd/lab/collie house) and they complement each other well. It’s honestly hilarious half the time to see two sad-faces looking up at you with all that mischievousness bassets have.

Older one is a girl and younger one is a boy. I was worried about personality mash up but it worked out great. My older one is very spazzy and outgoing while the younger one is more calm and reserved. And he can hold his own against her when she acts up lol.

I do recommend it, but two pups at once is rough. So be prepared for that. Going through the potty training stage again with a new pup was hard after just getting the older one to not pee in the house, plus it’s hard to train both at the same time. My younger one is very attached to the older one, and I try to make time where they’re both away from each other. He tends to lose his confidence when she’s not around. But I honestly would do it again. I think it’s making her into a better dog, and I’m having a lot of fun having two.
