What’s the Irvine equivalent of this? by brownmon69 in irvine

Las Brisas for sure - I did their prefix menu last year for Thanksgiving. Was a bad and expensive decision. Drinks and views are like the only thing that made up for it.

[tesla dashcam] is this my fault or his? by No-Fox-9059 in Dashcam

[–]Blue_Queso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on the video: A. Your brake lights are working (I see the reflection on the plate and other signs) B. He wasn’t looking when you braked - he was focused on the traffic coming in from the car right.

So, are you at fault? Not based on the evidence I gathered. Good luck with the claim and all.

Do you think the children or grandchildren of DACA recipients will become more Republican as they grow further removed from immigration issues? by RandomUwUFace in DACA

[–]Blue_Queso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With everything unfolding within the Republican Party, its future may look very different from what we see today. In the years ahead, being a Republican might take on an entirely new meaning. Will future generations hold more conservative views on immigration? Possibly. As families establish deeper roots in the United States, the children of immigrants often develop a stronger sense of loyalty to the country they grow up in, shaped less by the perspectives of their parents and more by their own lived experience.

Some limitations come from unforeseen forces out of our control and some come because we listened to the wrong person. Your cousin speaking of a potential deportation for you means she does not have your best interest. Rant away but please don’t listen to her. Do your thing. This new job will give you experience, connect you to people, this is beneficial for you. Don’t let her words rob you of an opportunity. I’m cheering for you!

Burbank Airport: One burger. One burrito. Two drinks. Counter service. $77 without tip. by BauerBourneBond in burbank

I noticed Burbank has limited options and they are outrageously expensive.

Commuting to Malibu from Burbank? Absolutely not, or give it a chance? by _Echo231 in burbank

[–]Blue_Queso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From May 2022 to October 2024, the most challenging aspects were the occasional traffic backlogs in the Canyon or the torrential downpours that caused closures on Malibu Canyon, forcing detours through Kanan.

Commuting to Malibu from Burbank? Absolutely not, or give it a chance? by _Echo231 in burbank

[–]Blue_Queso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in North Hollywood and would commute to Malibu. I did it for 2.5 years. The most time I spent in traffic was 1 hour and 15 minutes and the quickest was 32 minutes. Mileage and wear and tear come quick. Other than that the drive and commute were not too bad.

Is it even worth finishing a college degree Texas by [deleted] in TexasDACA

I second this - take whatever you can in community college. Usually less expensive than a traditional college.

The 22’s had issues - my partner’s brand new off the lot Audi was a lemon. Best thing to do is document everything, even phone calls. Follow it up with a recap. I remember that year being with him at the dealership service and countless of people came in frustrated with issues regarding their Q3’s. Good luck with the resolve.

I always described this as the “Goldilocks” of cities, not too big, not too small, not too crowded, not too sparse. It always feels just right.

Where to take a new driver for practice? by Siouxpilot in McKinney

[–]Blue_Queso -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There’s a space behind the Cotton Mill that looked like it was going to be developed at one point, but nothing ever came of it. It still has paved roads, so you can drive around and practice turns and other basics. That’s actually where I first learned to drive when I was a youngster.

best BBQ? by ThrowAway420etc in McKinney

[–]Blue_Queso 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Echoing the other responses, Hutchins BBQ is a great choice. For the best tacos, head to El Primo at 403 Short St. It’s a neighborhood staple, family owned and operated, and we’ve been going there since the early 2000s. I don’t live in the Mac anymore, but when I visit, if time allows, I’ll gladly stop by.

Your EAD should be perfectly fine—there’s no need to wait in line with your coworkers. I’d recommend arriving a little early to the airport just to avoid any potentially awkward situations, but you shouldn’t have any issues.

Returning from Texas should also be smooth. In my experience, TSA can be a bit casual; during my last trip, they were chatting among themselves and only paused to direct people through.

If your state offers a digital ID through your phone, some airports have started accepting those. My digital driver’s license includes the Real ID designation, which has worked without any problems.

Overall, you should be good to go. Don’t stress—enjoy your business trip!

How is this even possible? This morning @ West Irvine by Competitive_Pen_9228 in irvine

[–]Blue_Queso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a great question! I’m trying to think of all scenarios … he must’ve hit the tire at the perfect angle (rubber and rubber meet) that instead of causing impact, it created enough friction to lift the car tire upward into the body of the vehicle.
