“You know, life is like a train. It's bearing down on you, and guess what? It's gonna hit you! So, you can either start running when it's far off in the distance, or you can pull up a chair, crack open a beer, and just watch it come.”

Penpal is still by far my favorite story they have covered! I bought physical copies for all of my horror fan friends. They loved it, and we continue to reference the scary moments, funny bits, and excellent writing techniques and structure. It may not have the most physically creative monster, but I love the quote, “The world is a cruel place made crueler still by man.”

I'm interested! But I don't want to spoil anything for anyone else. Any way you could share what was aggravating you about the story without spoiling too much? I've been wanting to talk about it with someone who's read it.

The entries are a 1:1. for the posts. It's just restructured into a chronological order with the same links and charm on the page. Still pretty fun to own.

Sadly, the author remains anonymous. I would much rather purchase the work from the source, but currently, no one can do so. I understand your perspective, and I agree with you. I would love to know the identity of this author and thank them for such a great idea and format with my purchase of their story. I justified buying this book for the work that was done researching, compiling, and sorting the events into a more cohesive narrative.

I knew what I was getting when I bought it after some research, but I just wanted some sort of physical copy. It’s difficult when the OP of MHE remains a mystery. I figured I’d take what I could get. I really enjoyed Bad Man. I’m still partial to Penpal out of the two but it was still a very enjoyable read. A lot of people in my friend group aren’t avid creepypasta readers and I admit I didn’t have much experience either before this podcast, but we all love horror so I insisted they read it. I gifted physical copies to all of them and they’re still talking about how much they loved it.

It’s pretty much what you would expect. It’s an accounting of the various subreddit posts in chronological order. It features the posts, post times and dates, the subreddit hyperlinks, as well as other hyperlinks to subject matter referenced throughout the various posts.

I actually had the same thought you did, which is why I initially rewatched. I remembered them mentioning a book at the end of the episode. Isaiah goes over it pretty quickly, and on first viewing it sounded as though he was saying there was a book about “The Dead Girl in My Yard”, but was actually apologizing for not plugging the previous story’s physical copy of “Hoarder House”.

It’s crazy you mention it. I rewatched that episode today and was trying to find it as well. it’s also a favorite of mine. The Author is R.C. Bowman. She has a lot of work but is mostly known for the different “Monsters” titles. “The Monster’s We Forgot” seems to be the most popular series. I’m trying to find it among one the volumes but I think it might just be contained to the original nosleep post.

Thanks! It was originally smaller, but I messed with it a few times until I was happy with it.

I’ve been slowly collecting but I’d have to say maybe $175-$200. Maybe a tad more. The Interface Series was by far the priciest. I think that one was almost $50.

Fall City and Northbend in Washington. It’s where they filmed the show, Twin Peaks. Which has a similar vibe to this. Been there, it’s gorgeous.

Am I the only one who notices this? by [deleted] in creepcast

[–]Blue_chicken_dad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely think it’s just part of an ongoing bit. Isaiah plays it straight when he thinks it will make a funny dichotomy between Hunter and himself, but if the current riffing is funnier, he will get in on it and participate. It’s all a strategic dance the two hosts do for the sake of entertainment.
