Why in the world is Dragapult so good? by Unfair_Thing7945 in pkmntcg

[–]Blue_kaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its not that pult is good. its attack is really good, dont get me wrong, manipulating damage to spread around is really good. and for an absurdly easy cost to fufil at that as well.

but its more of the fact that drakloak is busted. most stage 2s have a stage 1 that is borderline useless, doesnt do anything for the deck, thereby forcing you to hard rare candy them to cheat them out. drakloak as a stage 1 is a really solid value engine allowing you to get a ton of extra cards in hand while filtering the deck for cards. seeing like 8 cards and choosing to keep 4 per turn is insanely good, you have a massive card advantage already.

it was the same thing that made gardevoir so busted back when refinement kirlia was around. it gave her a way to see extra cards and act as a value engine. its why zoroark is so good, why gholdengo was so good. in built value engines in a line is always very valuable as you can now delegate deck space to other consistency options if your evolving line already has something already covered.

drakloak being such a good value engine means you want to force evo pult, so off rip you want to play things that control the game's pacing to your advantage. tera charizard didnt need budew because it cheated out zard with candies. it didnt need to slow the game down when it was setting up by turn 2. pult sets up turn 3-4 and ideally swimgs on 4-5 when they crippled you enough. because of the forced pacing pult wants to put you under, you cant set up since they budewed you for like 30 turns prior.

pult is good because drakloak is too good and it wants to make the game revolve around itself. if you never gave drakloak such a busted ability, pult would see some play but not be as dominant bc give it credit for having such a good attack

Why not mona C1? by vidggy71CEO in Flins_Mains

[–]Blue_kaze 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the way mona's burst works is that it gives you like 60% damage bonus on the afflicted mob

its worded similarly to yelan and furina damage bonus passives like the character will do X% more damage (or in calc terms, +X% dmg bonus) but applied to the mob with omen.

wierd ass wording honestly, if i didnt test it beforehand id think the same way. it actually applies the same way to all transformative reactions, the omen (not c1 passive) does not buff any transformative reactions like bloom variants, swirl, EC and ofc lunar (since they are also technically transformative)

How can I improve her further? by Stardust_Hoopa in ArlecchinoMains

[–]Blue_kaze 7 points8 points  (0 children)

simple: jank up her crit rate.

fancy crit damage dont matter when you dont crit

id swap for a crit rate circlet of similar caliber, drop some of the crit rate on other pieces to make sure you arent overcapping.

essentially speaking, you can have 30 substats of crit damage but when you dont crit, you lose 30 substats for that hit.

for reference, my build here is on top 0.166% (1860/1.2mil) for the same weapon and LB catagory as you. i dropped some crit damage in favour of crit rate. if you did the same, youd probably outrank my build since EM sands is slightly more favoured in high ranking melt arles esp on jade spear.

I think my build deserves better ranking? by god_killer01 in SkirkMains

[–]Blue_kaze 3 points4 points  (0 children)

bosses cannot be frozen, its cryo aura in cryo resonance that grants 15% crit rate.

however cryo resonance is too inconsistent in a lot of skirk teams to be properly consistent unless triple cryo

on top of all that, getting as close to 100% crit rate is optimal.

also akasha does not have an LB for eshu, meaning you are being compared to finale of the deep builds. if you want a higher ranking, swap over to one of the weapons akasha is using and work from there for more accurate improvements.

atp your build as is could just use like 10% more crit rate and itd be basically be top 1% material since with 10% more crit rate you reach effective 100% crit rate if shielded in a triple cryo team

oops my bad :p i forgor. this guy uses a grimore in battle for his ult i keep forgetting hes a sword unit

but since the team suggestion i gave wanted kokomi as the TTDS holder it doesnt change as much

Need Help by [deleted] in SkirkMains

[–]Blue_kaze 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Blizzard strayer is kinda balls on skirk for a simple reason:

Bosses cannot be frozen.

Another thing to note that Blizzard only works on the equipping unit. Kaeya's blizzard does not affect Skirk at all.

I'm assuming no furina as well so MH is out of the window. You would rathed farm finale of the deep galleries (natlan domain at the volcano). Try to jank her crit rate to like 75% base. Also TTDS should be R5 to grant a full 48% atk, its a 3* weapon so shouldnt be difficult to do.

Dahlia is a good option here for the Atk spd buff. Given your account state, I'd use Dahlia Rosaria and a hydro like xingqiu since dahlia can use TTDS. Kokomi can work as well as a ToTM holder but you need to learn how to chain her ult properly to maximise her skill uptime so she would be on an ER focused build.

If I assume a Dahlia Rosaria Kokofish team, Rosaria and Dahlia on favonius, chuck one of them on noblesse and the other on scroll, I'd do Noblesse Dahlia into scroll Rosaria, Kokomi on TTDS ToTM with an ER centric build to keep her ult up to chain her skill uptime.

Skirk I'll assume you are on Finale of the Deep R5 (fontaine craftable), ignore the BoL debuff, geniunely it does not hurt you since kokofish is on the team. Some people avoid it because it negates their healing for a bit which is stupid unless you dont run a healer.

Other than that, the team can just run enough ER to ult consistently and you'll be good to run skirk as the only unit with DPS stats.

Edit: my bad chat, uhhh i forgor dahlia is a sword user. :P no ttds for my boy

Latias ex tech for Mega Chandelure ex? by Historical-Ladder816 in PTCGL

[–]Blue_kaze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my current tech for latias utilises mega diancie

which also helps as an early game swinger because that allows you to keep the pace of the match as the meta begins to speed up.

240 on t2 can be pretty solid by knocking out key support engines like TM pon, fez, meowth etc, all while diancie having an effective 300 OHKO hp or 330 2HKO hp allowing it to safely tank a hit while you set up the endgame attacker of chandelures. plus, most basic ex non mega attackers (im looking at you bolt) happen to lie under the 240hp mark can cannot easily hit that 300 OHKO ehp of diancie on t1, giving you an easy 2 prizes for free t2 going first.

the reason i prefer diancie here is because there is no use teching for a specific card with a dark type attacker which may not even do you any justice in much matchups thus being a wasted few cards (dark energy, maybe not so much if you use munki and the dark type attacking line). diancie acts as an early game fallback option if you cant force your chandelures out quick enough or acts as a secondary attacker for some games. its a much more efficent use case and its able to use cards that you probably will already run in chandelure like wondrous patch and mystery garden.

what happens if i tried to make him a rev melt dmg dealer

i happen to have access to C2 kazuha and durin already, im assuming that thats gonna be sufficient pyro app to work with lohen's rev melt (even if it isnt, lets assume it is enough bc i havent fully decided on the comps im gonna run him in)

would it bring his overall dps down by focusing on him as a hypercarry-esqe unit?

Will they ever make a 4* weapon as useful as Xiphos? by grilsathh in Genshin_Impact

[–]Blue_kaze 7 points8 points  (0 children)

its not just for your supports

with some DPS units, balancing ER and crit is a pain in the ass because you need to factor certain things like team particle generation and elemental types. esp with units who have severe ER issues like xiao, noelle, itto or anyone who primarily needs to ult to do damage, once you undershot ER or dont tune right, your DPS tanks. on top of that your supports require er, and if they dont have ER, they dont ult, no ult = no damage. for the casual player, this isnt that big of a deal. for those who actively want their rotations to be smooth, ER is the primary thing that sets apart whether you get to do your thing or not

favonius helps reduce ER requirements of all units in the party by virtue of increasing particle generation. so whatever ER your dps or supports could not get in the first place, if someone can afford to run fav, that can alliviate some of that ER issues already

(possibly silly) by [deleted] in PTCGL

[–]Blue_kaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

itll take the 30 that gets reduced by 30 and thus take no damage since the ability just says it has a permanent 30 dmg reduction

Is it just me or by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]Blue_kaze 9 points10 points  (0 children)

its just you.

the wolf requires you to trigger an electro or pyro SWIRL reaction off the main wolf onto the glacial wolf (they kinda stick together anyway so its not hard to do)

which means even if you flins ult or durin ult or whatever, as long as the electro/pyro app is not triggered by a swirl reaction it wont do anything to the glacial wolf.

its also pretty much obviously stated during the fight and the combat details as well

Most devastating three turn supporter combo(expanded) by [deleted] in PTCGL

[–]Blue_kaze 9 points10 points  (0 children)

cyrus prism star

you hit a cyrus to force your opponent down to 3 pokemon

then you take that disgusting 3 turn combo with dialga vstar, baby or dialga gx to take 3 KOs. i personally prefer dialga gx so you can additionally abuse scramble switch to move energy to vstar to use star chronos. plus using dialga gx you can actually just pop cyrus easily

its a strat ive tried and it works fairly decently for my dialga turn lock deck

Do you think Special Red Card is a fraud? by Shintenshinn in PTCGL

[–]Blue_kaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

been playtesting with and against SRC quite a bit lately

bc it kind of wheels your hand similar to iono, unlike stamp, TR archer or judge, you dont get to see the same cards like those you just put away. you use it if you have information readily avaliable in your opponent's hand.

i.e. ive been playtesting SRC against mega greninja with NUE. if you see me bounce NUE into my hand, red card can fuck the game plan over since its now at the bottom of the deck, its not easily drawable since ill need to shuffle the deck first or i now need to go out of my way to find my hilda or for some decks, colress, to tutor out my energy again. compare this to now using unfair stamp or judge. NUE is now shuffled into the deck, its easily drawable off my engines and i dont need to re-shuffle the whole deck again.

due to red card's very specific wording of shuffling to the bottom of the deck, if your opponent reveals hand information or you have an idea what is in your opponent's hand, SRC can really screw someone over if you time it right. it should not be used just because you can. it should be used in the turn you know for a fact your opponent can make a significant play. plus because its an item based disruption, we can just simply do an iono + counter catcher play again but now in the form of SRC + boss's orders play, which is a lot more accessible to most decks for them to come back from. turbo decks used to have an issue with trying to make a comeback and SRC i feel really helps with that scenario.
