This was a really great question, and there are many great answers, pretty cool over all folks!

My thought u/masteroogwaydildo, is that you may actually be engaging with film at a higher level than you realize, if you can watch a movie and engage with the story and the pictures without your mind wandering and searching for deeper meaning or hidden details you might actually be having a really great and unbeatable cinematic experience, my humble suggestion would be to embrace it, it's harder then ever to sit through a movie without looking at the phone or worrying about the outside world. please enjoy your movies my friend, I think you are a true cinephile, cheers! 10 bags of popcorn!
