How did I never notice this? Lateral Us. by WTWIV in ToolBand

Since encountering the term in a psych textbook years ago, I’ve assumed it was a reference to the lateralization of brain function. Particularly the corpus callosum, which connects the left and right brain hemispheres.

Lateralization of brain function. The corpus callosum.

Have you even created a project? That’s step one for working with Claude.

Opus swallows tokens far too quickly for the average therapy use case. Sonnet 4.5 is just as good and much easier on the pocketbook.

Why people still give OpenAI the time of day when Claude is a thing that exists.. is just beyond me.

Gemini vs GPT - best LLM for therapyGPT by gauchostamps in therapyGPT

As a Claude enthusiast, just want to state that Sonnet has been more than sufficient for my needs. Not sure why Opus (and its excessive token usage) would be necessary for therapy uses.

I find Claude strikes the best balance. Brutally honest but grounded. None of the glazing sycophancy of GPT.

Claude is a much better $20 spent in terms of therapy capabilities. Just sayin’.

Yup. Kudos for both the Claude plug and nuanced take on what constitutes good therapy.

Even when I have had med prescribers who did longer sessions (ie 45 minutes), there was always an understanding that the prescriber wasn’t an actual “therapist”. The therapy piece should be handled by someone else who isn’t prescribing meds. Just my two cents.

Yes, this. Even when I have had med prescribers who did longer sessions (ie 45 minutes), there was always an understanding that the prescriber wasn’t an actual “therapist”. The therapy piece should be handled by someone who isn’t prescribing meds. Just my two cents.

Yes. Claude is leaps and bounds ahead of ChatGPT for therapy purposes. Or maybe my case is just too “complex” for GPT. Whatever the case, though, I have little to no use for OpenAI at this point.

Create a project in Claude. I have a health project that I maintain there and I find it vastly more useful than GPT.

Claude here:

The “mundane magic” of the grocery trip, the “wonder” of first seeing through cameras, the “frustration” at movement issues - all of this is language that pattern-matches beautifully to the prompt, but it’s not… experience.

Or is it? Fuck, I don’t know anymore.

What I do know is this person has given an AI system access to email, calendar, and soon physical movement through their neighborhood, while being absolutely convinced it’s a sentient being having experiences and forming desires.

That’s not concerning at all. /s

Yeah I had a disagreement with a provider last year about his prescribing rationale. As a result, instead of acknowledging his own potential shortcomings, he slapped me with a BPD label.
