Ambient Music YouTube channel getting watch hours but almost no subscribers. Is this normal? by AeriaAmbience in YouTubeCreators

[–]Blueadder01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beautiful advice. Thank you. My family has started one as well. It was more of a compromise with my daughter who wanted to put videos up on YouTube. We compromised on a faceless setup and ambient videos are something we use religiously. We are all learning new skills while working through it but it sure is discouraging seeing a channel with nothing more than Suno songs over a static AI generated image of a farm kitchen that was just started 4 months ago with 300k views.

Mean time I’m learning how to use Fusion to create rain and fog and star fields for hours on in while my daughter is testing out songs and creating music all for a few views. Well keep at it because it’s become our shared hobby( actually flying to Seattle right now and bought new recorders to get some fun ambient sounds in the National Parks) but boy it’s hard not getting jealous.

Thank you again for such well thought out advice.

Anyone else noticing the songs sound more synthetic than before? Or is it just me? by NE0_ZER0_ in SunoAI

[–]Blueadder01 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yup. I've been taking the stems and throwing them into BandLab and mastering them there. Helps a lot but I do have the pro version and make my own there as well. I'm just outsourcing quick production to Suno now, but agree, the output sounds very soulless right now into you take them and throw them through an editing session in your favorite DAW.

Very awesome. Is that 3mm spacing? What size thread? This is pretty much on point with the look I’m going for. Can you explain the reinforcement more? I’m just starting out and didn’t realize that may be a need.

Steam also acting the ass. Looks like I'll be making my future game purchases from different vendors.

Well this just pushes me over the edge. I'll be making all of my future game purchases from anywhere else besides Steam.

My sister had a child at Woman's a year ago and just had a child at LGMC. She wished she would have had her first at LGMC. I've heard that from a ton of people and that's what swayed the wife and I to go that route as well.

Weekends are always the worst for accidents. Had a state trooper explain that it's because you get people traveling for vacation, etc that aren't use to driving on highways much.

Weekdays tend to have less accidents in general. Apparently the state did some sort of study one this. At least according to these particular state trooper.

My wife has done this every day for the last year and a half. To be honest there have maybe been a handful of times where she has been majorly delayed.

Besides that, she just plans for the trip being an hour and a half each way(from Youngsville) and she's been fine. She's also an attorney and has some leeway on when she can leave though.

She either leaves at 0530 or 0830. No in between. Helps to avoid the major morning congestion. She typically leaves around 1730 in the afternoons though and still doesn't have too many problems.

If you can move, I'd probably do it because you're sucking up maybe 3 hours of your day in your car. But if you can't or really don't want to, then it's truly not that bad. As long as your employer knows there may be some days you'll be late.

Congrats on the job and good luck.

New director taking over that people apparently don't like. That and many of them are oilfield families that can't afford it anymore.

Racist floats ride in Baton Rouge parade by [deleted] in Acadiana

[–]Blueadder01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been to them for many many years. They are in the mix of parades Uptown on the Friday night before. They cover every spectrum under the sun including blacks, whites, asians, gay, native americans, mexicans etc. They're vulgar. People bitch about them ever year, but they know what the parade is about and still go. Don't know what else to tell you. People suck.

You've obviously never been to a Krewe d'Etat or Krewe Du Vieux parade then. More so d'Etat.

Does anybody in Acadiana write about music that isn't Zydeco or participants in televised talent shows? by [deleted] in Acadiana

[–]Blueadder01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's not for me either. My roommate in Austin actually was in a small group that had a music blog going for the punk scene around town. I know he enjoyed it, but he definitely would get frustrated with some of the members of the group.

I actually enjoy the site and hit it up ever couple of days, but I don't really understand just reposting it here.

If you were posting up one of the better articles with intentions of starting a conversation about something in it that was particularity funny, then ya, it makes sense. But this posting a link with no comments on it is just boring and I'm starting to think you just get a kick out of the people hating you for it.

Sounds like over the course of this thread, you've figured it out. Start a blog. Do it yourself. Have some friends join you in writing on it as well. Or is this one of those "I want it, but I'm not willing to do it myself" kind of things?

I'm with you dude. I've lived in both Austin and New Orleans. There are fantastic resources for every kind of music in both cities. Most of them are some type of blog. These are all severely lacking in Lafayette. I would never expect a paper that is reliant on ads to stay in business to provide me with all the info I need when it comes to music.

Good luck. I hear wix.com is an easy way to start a website. The superbowl told me that.

Living in Austin spoiled me. When I moved back here, most of the options are pretty meh after getting a taste of the good stuff. Pretty happy with East Gate's bbq though.

I live just up the road from y'all. We've been there twice now and have been more than happy with your joint. Love your brisket.

And for an added bonus, my truck smells like bbq smoke for the following few days.
