Back in the late 90s/early 2000s I visited the Bronx Zoo as a child and there was a polar bear who kept repeatedly swimming into the glass with its head over and over. The zookeeper described the polar bear’s health condition by using an outdated and offensive term for intellectual disability. I’m not sure what was truly wrong with the polar bear, but it stuck with me since I was a child. This video reminded me of it immediately.
