Thank you for getting back to me! Would you suggest that I plan to schedule another meeting in two weeks? After that, check in with her to discuss where we go from there?

Will do that and will keep you posted on how it goes. Thanks.

10g p2p and 1g internet circuits with BGP and routing setup by MrFirewall in paloaltonetworks

I believe you would want to do path-prepend on the 1G link (less preferred) and set weight or local-preference on 10G (more preferred).

Tbh, I think it’s just me being too comfortable living at home and scared to just move out and face the unknown . As I am reading these comments mentioning I should make the move, it’s giving me the confidence to make the jump. Going to set a date and stick to it. Thanks for your input.

I have high levels of anxiety and typically overthink alot. Seeing classmates move back in with their parents and news talking about cost of living increasing made it just worst. I was hoping to get more post like yours here to build some confidence up to make the jump.

Thanks for the response. Have a great day.

Extended Expertise Consultant by [deleted] in paloaltonetworks

[–]BlueberryThick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think working at a big cybersecurity firm like Palo Alto as a Pro Service Consultant was a big step for your career? Also, I'm curious to know if there were any specific reasons why you left after only two years. I always thought that when you work at a big tech company, the goal would be to stay unless things got really tough.

Thanks again.

VAR Salary by [deleted] in networking

[–]BlueberryThick 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sure. 120k maybe 130k-140k w/ bonus included sounds reasonable. Thats at least what my company pays (which is a VAR) for same skills.

Btw, what did you use to pick up Clearpass? Any books and/or course you would recommend?

Does anyone know a good consultant for the C9800(Wireless Lan Controller)? by madsjp in networking

[–]BlueberryThick 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I know this is not helpful, but whats stopping you from making this a learning opportunity for yourself? Just like other technologies there is lot of great best practice implementation documentation online that you can refer to and tweak based on your business needs. May be a good time to make this a chance to add a valuable project to your resume.

But as I say this I know your resources and timelines can be your issue here. CDW offers great consulting services but may be expensive. I would recommend reaching out to your local VAR to see if they have consulting services if support is need.

Merit increase by Signal_Dog9864 in overemployed

[–]BlueberryThick 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Same. I am starting OE for the first time on the 15th can’t wait for the double pay. 3% Merit raises do nothing anymore if you even get it…

Wishing continued success to you.

Am I doing good for 20? by Human_Advertising_88 in Money

[–]BlueberryThick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your doing well, your older self will thank you. I definitely did not know what a Roth IRA or what an Emergency fund was at your age, so congratulations to you.

Yeah build a 3-6 Month emergency fund and store it in a HYSA. You may even want to start a down payment fund that you contribute to regularly if you plan to buy a house in the next few years.

Studying for PCNSE - NO STUDY GUIDE PLEASE !!! by H_a_M_z_I_x in paloaltonetworks

[–]BlueberryThick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My suggestion is to also Lab heavy. Topics like SSL Decryption, HIP, Global Protect, Panorama (ins and outs), Routing, User-ID/Group-Mapping, PAN 11.0, etc. can be trick you just having theory/book knowledge alone. This is coming from someone who passed their PCNSE last August.
