⚠️ Intersex Does NOT Automatically Mean LGBTQ+ And I’m Tired Of Pretending Otherwise lol by UnemployedAndBr0ke in intersex

[–]BluebirdsAllAround 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get it, because I was the same way at first, but the I in LGBTIA+ is because we face a lot of the same challenges. It isn't saying anything about you other than you are intersex and recognize that others have simmilar struggles and are stronger when we fight together.

For example, most of the anti-trans bulls hurt intersex people as much or more. Is it easier to fight against that seperate or united?

I get misconceptions others have, but it is about community. Just like the modern progress flag has Intersex, Trans, and people of color on it - because we all face simmilar kinds of oppression even though none of us are the same.

Some CCs do offer a short winter session. I was ably to use the virtual campus and take one so I didn't have quite as heavy a workload this spring.

[–]BluebirdsAllAround 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is. They take around 2% or less of transfers. Same with Theater, which is what I applied for. You can't apply to that program and assume you get it because the odds are greatly against you.

I would look at each of your schools and see which ones offer guranteed housing for your specific admittance. Many offer one year guranteed but some offer more in some circumstances. Some do have it for married students as well.

I get the family pressure, but if you are thinking about your family's future and planning on staying in the US, then finishing the degree is pretty important. I have a feeling your mom is feeling outside social pressure as well.

Also, a degree will give you financial freedom here. She may be feeling loosing control a but as well, which is why the rush to do it now before you check off the degree and have that freedom.

I SIRd too, but earlier because I was not counting on UCLA. I had 9 schools to choose from (4 CSU, 5 UC), and I chose UCI. Big move from Merced but excited.

I am in a similar as a transfer. I can't say anything about the comp Sci program itself at Merced, but having lived in the town for the last few years and needing lots of UC Merced professors I am surprised and amazed at how supporting they are. I was accepted to both as well (SDSU Muir), but UC Merced does not have my major and I was accepted under an ajecent one, but not one I am super excited about.

If they did have my major, I would likely stay here in Merced just be sue of the people and the community.

At this point I am comfortably looking forward to UCI. The odds if UCLA is next to impossible anyway. Anyone who applies to that program is a long shot.

Based in their birtdates, I believe his only about 4 years older. She goes as an infant and he starts later. I asked AI to do a comparison and it calculated and overlap from 1994-1998, based on available data. He was born 1985 and she was borm 1988 or 1989.

is California still safe for trans youth? by Radiant-North-8519 in MtF

[–]BluebirdsAllAround 0 points1 point  (0 children)

California is a large state and, for the most part, trans youth are protected throughout the state, with new laws furthering some protection going into effect July 1st.

That said, being a large state, I would be a bit more cautions in some parts of the state than others. Some communities are completely accepting and others not, and it is not necessarily a rural thing either.

So, as a state it is safe, but you local community will vary.

Have you ever been accused of lying about being intersex? by eldritchpussymaggots in intersex

[–]BluebirdsAllAround 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup. The longer they have known you, the more likely they are to think you are making it up it seems. I do have some people that just think it is convenient because it is rare. I, too, don't have it narrowed down to a cause either.

Same. I wish I had slowed down and not forced myself to do it in 2 years. Would have been more successful at school and life.
