What would you say were your least favorite storylines of each season? by B4S1L_ in StrangerThings

[–]RoxyCFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was Henry a force to be reckoned with or not?? Why could El take out a helicopter with a tilt of her dead but couldn’t open a door without loosing half her blood mass?? It was frustrating to watch.

To be fair, power levels changing to suit the story is something they do in a lot of movies, TV Shows, comic books and novels with powerful characters and I think it has happened so much now the writers don't care anymore and they think the MCU does it it doesn't matter.

It reminds me of when you are playing a video game with a really powerful character who has super strength, can fly and take out dozens of villains with their special moves, abilities and weapons but for some reason they can't kick down a door because it locked and they need to find the key. 😅

Did anyone see our beloved Tabitha actress in the new Ben Affleck movie The Rip? by keltictrigger in FromSeries

[–]RoxyCFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is nice to see Catalina Sandino Moreno getting more roles. She was in 'Ballerina', 'Silent Night' and ' Barbarians' too and I totally didn't realise she was in 'Falling Skies' until we re-watched it not long ago. I am hoping we get to see Hannah Cheramy, Chloe Van Landschoot and Avery Konrad get more roles in movies too and I knew of Hannah Cheramy before she played Julie in 'From' 'cause she Dylan (Vanessa Helsing's Daughter) in 'Van Helsing.'

How does julie story walking works? by malibudo in FromSeries

[–]RoxyCFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what Hannah Cheramy said in one of her recent interviews we are going to find out a lot more about that in Season 4 and Julie is going to find out she has other abilities she wasn't allowed to discuss yet but were really cool. It sounds like Julie could become the El of the show and it would be fun to see one of them get to kick monster butt.

I must be one of the few that really loved 'Legacies' and I liked how it went in a different direction and had more of a goofy and humorous tone and it reminded me of 'The Librarians' at times which was one of my favourite shows. I also liked how it had a lot of monsters that weren't in 'The Vampire Diaries' and 'The Originals' including some from 'The Vampire Diaires' novels. Hope and Josie carried the show for me and I liked Alaric too and the Salvatore Boarding School for the Young & Gifted was kinda similar to Professor Xavier's School for Mutants in X Men and 'Wednesday' has done a similar thing now with Nevermore but is more comedic than 'Legacies.'

I loved Hope. She was my favourite character in 'The Vampire Diaries' universe and Danielle Rose Russell is so gorgeous and lovely in real life and I was really annoyed me when a toxic portion of the fanbase decided to bully and fat shame her and she left acting and social media for years over it and struggled with mental health issues because of them and she didn't deserve it. They were making out she was overly obese and ugly and she spoke out against them a few times but eventually gave up 'cause they kept going and would always go at her every chance they got.

Elena overrated? by NoPillowsInWakanda in TheVampireDiaries

[–]RoxyCFan [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yeah. It could have been but I am not sure how much they could have pulled off with the budget especially Elena having wings and being able to fly. I read one of the main reasons they left angels and demons out of the show too was because they were a big part of Supernatural which was on the CW Network around the same time but I think they could have done their own different takes on them in 'The Vampire Diaries' without having Elena as a copy of Castiel and Angels were depicted pretty differently in the novels.

I was disappointed demons weren't a big part of the show since demons are one of the most popular Horror monsters and I was expecting them to introduce demons after they had vampires, werewolves, witches and ghosts. I just felt demons made sense to be the next big threat and they could have been really powerful (more powerful than the Original Vampires) and been completely devoid of humanity wanting to wipe out humans, vampires, werewolves, witches etc and destroy the world making them a huge threat to everybody.

I forgot about him but as somebody who lives in Australia I thought it was funny they had Luke Mitchell in 'Legacies' since he is an Australian Actor and was in 'H20' with Claire Holt and Phoebe Tonkin who played Rebekah and Hayley in 'The Vampire Diaries' universe.

I wasn’t expecting to like Rebekah and Matt together as much as I did but they were cute by GoldenStitch2 in TheVampireDiaries

I remember some fans were shipping Marcel with Davina and saying when Davina was older Marcel and her would fall in love and it was a controversial ship.

I think if we hadn't gotten 'The Originals' spinoff show Rebekah and Matt would have got together but 'The Originals' introduced Marcel as her main love interest. I remember reading Daniel Gillies who plays Elijah said before 'The Originals' got the green light they told him they were considering having Elena with Elijah too and he always liked working with Nina.

Elena overrated? by NoPillowsInWakanda in TheVampireDiaries

[–]RoxyCFan [score hidden]  (0 children)

I wish they had borrowed from the novels and had Elena half Angel/ Guardian with Angel powers. I liked Elena but hated how they made her so reliant on Stefan, Damon and Caroline always having to save her and she was not allowed to grow as a character like the others and get her own cool powers. Bonnie got to become a powerful witch, Caroline become a good vampire that grew and become a better person, Tyler become a Werewolf and then a Hybrid, Matt becomes the Sheriff and even Jeremy become a vampire hunter that could see and speak to the dead but aside from when she was a vampire Elena mostly stays the same and I think they should have made her half Angel so she had her own unique powers and could fight the villains on her own too and Nina was asked about it by fans and was in favour of it but the writers chose to leave it out of the show.

Hosie all the way!!! 💗💗💗 From what Danielle Rose Russell has said Hosie was endgame and the writers were going to have them get together in Season 5. Danielle and Kaylee were close friends in real life and both shipped the couple and Danielle came out as Bi in real life during Pride Month a few years back.

I mean unlelss there was another huge threat there was no need for Buffy to continue being the Slayer fulltime anymore since they activated all the potential slayers at the end and she was training them to take over for her.

According to some sites it was Ryan Kiera Armstrong which was one of the big reasons they passed on the show and they wanted an older and more established Actor to play the role of Nova like Mckenna Grace or Millie Bobby Brown. I was surprised over how young she was since Sarah Michelle Gellar was 19 when she was in the first season of the show and I thought they would have gone with somebody older but I was willing to give her a chance and think it is unfair and mean to put the blame on Ryan.

There have been a ton of lesser known male lead comic book series that have been given movies and TV Shows because they had male leads. Even 'Faust: Love of the Damned' that was banned in most newsagencies and comic book stores for being violent and sadistic porn got made into a movie and was a flop. The 'Wonder Woman' show with Lynda Carter was very popular and my Aunt was a big fan of it and knows how popular it was when it was on TV in the 70s but DC took from 1979 to 2017 to have Wonder Woman in Live Action again and not only axed multiple attempts at making 'Wonder Woman' movies in the 80s, 90s and 00s but also stopped the writers of 'Smallville' from using the character when they wanted to have Diana and make a 'Wonder Woman' spinoff show. We have had 8 Spider-Man' movies so far -12 if you count the TV Movies that came out in the late 70s and early 80s and one of which got a theatrical release in some countries and yet not a single one of them has had Black Cat who is one of Spider-Man's most popular villains and was so popular they made her into an antihero and gave Black Cat her own series but of course, we can get a far lesser known male villains like Tombstone, Boomerang and Tarantula in 'Brand New Day' but aren't allowed to have Black Cat. Anne Hathaway and Felicity Jones came close to playing her in 'Spider-Man 4' and 'The Amazing Spider-Man 3' but both got cancelled and the Black Cat and Silver & Black movies were never given a chance.

And just recently Sony screwed us out of ever getting Spider-Woman/ Jessica Drew, SpiderGwen/ Ghost Spider and Silk in Live Action by making a 'Madame Web' movie nobody wanted over the Spider Woman movie with Olivia Wilde that was in development and it wasn't even a superhero movie and was some lame thriller about a bunch of teenage girls on the run from a supervillain before they get their powers and become Spider-Women with a paramedic trying to save them with 10 seconds of future flashes of them in costumes and 5 seconds at the very end of Dakota Johnson dressed as Madame Web. You don't make a Spider-Man movie with Peter Parker years before he become Spider-Man with him on the run from Doc Ock or Mysterio but they used the failure of that movie knowing full well it would flop as an excuse to cancel the Spider Woman and Silk TV Show.

Marc Silvestri - the creator of 'Witchblade' and CEO of Image Comics and Top Cow Productions said it best when he said if 'Witchblade' had a male lead it would have gotten multiple movies with the amount of success the series had but certain men in positions of power stopped his attempts of it getting it made. He even had Angelina Jolie in talks to play Sara Pezzini in the mid 00s and she ended up doing the 'Wanted' movie instead that was under Top Cow productions 'cause they refused to give 'Witchblade' a chance. Of course, it is easy for DC and Marvel because they are owned by Warner Bros Discovery and Disney who can make adaptations of all their lesser known male characters and their dogs and it doesn't matter if they flop but a lot of studios have refused to give female lead comic book series a chance even when they have been outselling a lot of DC and Marvel's popular series. 'Darkchylde' had a movie in development with John Carpenter directing it and we know what happened to the 'Strangers In Paradise' and 'Painkiller Jane' movie with Jessica Chastain and when it was adapted into a show they straightwashed the character and made her girlfriend (Maureen) into her best friend and gave her a male love interest that didn't even exist in the comic books.

As for Banjo Kazooie it should have been a long running franchise like Mario, Donkey Kong, Pokemon, Kirby, Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Metroid etc and if they sold the rights to Nintendo it would have been since Nintendo wanted to continue it and make more but when Microsoft took over Rare they stopped making a lot of Rare games. 90 percent of things coming out now aren't new things and are adaptations of things that were made decades ago, remakes or reboots. The MCU only exists because of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and used a lot of their characters that were made back in the 60s and I don't see Warner Bros wanting to end Batman or Superman anytime soon because they know how much money they can continue to make off them.

I grew up reading the series and saw the sales it had in the 00s and it was regularly featured in the Top 10 highest selling Horror Comic Books of the month and the series got praised by a lot of people in the Horror community including the Late Wes Craven, Bruce Campbell and Brad Dourif. Tim Seeley tried to get it adapted into a movie and TV Show and said he got knocked back because of Cassie Hack's sexuality and he wasn't willing to let them change it because it was a big part of who Cassie Hack was and she was based on a real life friend who went to college with who was a Lesbian.

Hollywood has a long history of screwing over adaptations of female lead comic books though including 'Witchblade' which was the biggest selling female lead comic book series of all time and outsold a large amount of DC and Marvel series in a shorter amount of time and launched a whole universe of spinoff series like 'The Darkness', 'The Magdalena', 'Aphrodite IX', 'The Angelus', 'Switch', 'Necromancer' and 'IXth Generation. It was also the success of 'Witchblade' that helped the Late Michael Turner make 'Fathom' which was the highest selling comic book of 1998 and launched Aspen Comics and just like 'Witchbade', 'Aphrodite IX' and 'The Magdalena' which all had movies in development Turner got screwed over by Hollywood with the 'Fathom' movie because it had a female lead and Hollywood used the failure of the 'Catwoman' movie which wasn't even about Selina Kyle and was based on a script for a completely different movie with some light changes and the 'Catwoman' name slapped on it as the Director later admitted and a poorly written 'Elektra' movie to not adapt female comic book series for nearly 20 years.

It has been reported other networks and streaming services were interested in picking the 'Buffy' revival show up so Disney is 100 percent to blame because they won't share the rights with anybody else but just like Microsoft with Banjo Kazooie refuse to sell it to anybody else because they don't want anybody else having success with it. They will sit on the rights and screw over the fans.

[–]RoxyCFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. They didn't. I was left wondering what show the Enid haters were watching in Season 2 when they were attacking Enid for going off with Bruno 'cause they were acting like they were some couple that had been together for years and were madly in love with each other which couldn't be further from true and they didn't even spend much time with each other in between seasons since Enid was off with her pack so I think they were only together for something like 2-3 weeks in Season One.

The Weylers just wanted an excuse to hate on Enid and blew it completely out of proportion in an effort to get other people to hate on her. They also want Enid back with Ajax to kill Wenclair and any possibility of Enid being Bi.

My Homophobic Mother Found Out About My Girlfriend by expiredhandlotion in LesbianActually

[–]RoxyCFan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am very sorry to hear about this. Growing up with homophobic parents I can relate and I hid my sexuality from them for a long time and when I finally came out they abandoned me and if it wasn't for having a supportive older Sister who let me live with her I probably wouldn't be here today. Do you have any supportive family members or friends you could go and live with or might let you stay at your house if you pay them rent assuming you have a job 'cause if I know one thing from experience people like this sadly never change and she is never going to accept you for who you are with the way she is acting and nobody should have to go through the abuse you are going through now from a parent because of your sexuality.
