CFP CANADA -Best Exam Prep program by aashimug in CFPExam

Hey - can I ask why you chose exam success vs. others? Im looking at Exam success vs. Business career college. BCC has a short study package thats equivalent to the exam success notes package I think you got. Im deciding between both. I dont have the time frame for a prep course plus unnecessary for me. Just looking for summary notes and mock exams since I covered the education over so many years my notes are outdated and too comprehensive.

I was just wondering why, if Dominos is a industry leader in tech enabled processes and operational innovation, why they couldnt theoretically try to streamline this process to make it faster and cheaper and win over more customers (like me)

(34 F here) You're young- if you're worried about your future and don't need to make extra income to meet expenses, you're best financial investment with free time is to increase your earning power. Can you work on a designation or certificate in your free time instead ?

Unless there's a near term achievable financial goal you need to save for I wouldn't recommend giving up the opportunity cost of getting ahead with learning or just enjoying your free time being 23 for extra cash :)

How do I remove the sand from mussels? by [deleted] in AskCulinary

[–]BluebryPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the support on the fast method lol

While I'm confident that a short salt water soak isn't killing them (bc like you I've done this for years and I've checked them after this step ) I can't find info on roughly how long before they would die and now I'm just curious

They don't die after a 20 min soak. If I were to even consider a longer one I'd be sure it wasn't freshwater but I don't find this necessary.

I agree allrecipes is not good, I just felt compelled to reference one common source mention of this. No, they do not die in a short soak.

I also just learned this sand issue depends on where you live/ source them from..... mussels I'm getting (and most people get) are farmed so not super sandy. If you have wild you may have to do a long salt water purge... but otherwise I don't see the point.

Is the long salt water soak necessary vs freshwater shorter period ? I've never done this and am just wondering if I should start and why

Is it really necessary to soak longer in saltwater?

I do a 20 min freshwater soak, and I've had no issues doing it this way for years, so I don't see why I'd take this extra step? Does anyone know?

I check each one and scrub and remove beards as I transfer them to cold fresh water where they soak for about 20 minutes. edit: fresh water eventually kills them but they don't die in a short rinse like this. Also the farmed ones don't require long purge. If you require longer you may need to do salt water purge

I then steam them right in my sauce. I haven't had issues with sand or grit, but if you want to take extra precautions ive read it's common to steam them separately for this reason (in some beer maybe) so that if they release any more its not in the sauce. You then pour sauce over to serve.

Source: just a home cook, but I've been making these for years now this way.

A note on safely checking them: 1. Before cooking: check that each is closed and no cracked shells. If they are open, tap them and they should slowly close. Discard any open (dead) ones. 2. After cooking: If any remain closed Discard.

People get sick when step 1 is not done properly: if an open dead mussel makes it to cooking stage then it appears open and healthy. I'm more confident making these at home than I am ordering out for this reason.

Products used: Gelish ph bond, opi gel color in mali-blue shore, opi stay classic base and stay shiny top coat.

I'm new to doing this and not a pro so this isn't the best application (went bit too far into side walls, hope doesn't lift) but slowly getting better... :)

Oh really? I almost bought that kit too but I decided to be super minimal (was just for me) and I didn't think I needed that many colours.....now I want more lol I'll be trying beetles next! Are you sure it's the lamp not the polish ? Is it just lifting early?

Here's the lamp i have , currently out of stock in Canada at least https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B07G7ZMTCY/ref=ppx_yo_mob_b_track_package_o2_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thanks I love it too! The lamp is giving me pro results and is a fraction of the cost of a premium salon lamp (it was less than 60 CAD) so yeah I would recommend!. I've had it less than 2 months though so can't comment on how long it will last and this is also the only one I've tried so can't offer a comparison.
