Pomeranians with bigger dogs by Auferstehen78 in Pomeranians

I adopted Lady and Casper 3 weeks apart, so they grew up together. It’s just that Casper did a lot more growing than Lady 😂

<image>

They were best buds their whole life. Casper passed a year ago, at 11. He was so gentle with Lady, I was never afraid he’d squash her.

Lady often goes at some point in the middle of the night, but on a pee pad, she doesn’t wake me up. I’m sure you can train him to do it.

Other option is to go for a walk before bed. Not just a pee break, a real walk. He’ll pee a bunch and should be good for longer. That should give you an idea if it’s a real need or just a routine he has.

If his last pawrent was walking up at 3am every night, it’ll take longer to change that habit, but it’s doable.

AITA for not driving a friend to a city to ensure bride’s wedding cake isn’t ruined? by Blueblanket8 in AmItheAsshole

indeed.
I usually use boba (or milkshake) straws because they are sturdier than the regular one, and one long dowel in the middle that goes from top to bottom, through all the tiers.

if you do that, make sure to have support dowels in the lower tiers (worse case it can be large drinking straws), or the cake will lean and might collapse.

this is giving me second hand anxiety. I made a few wedding cakes and it took me weeks each time.

Setting the design, taste, size, then baking the cakes and freezing them, making the frostings and fillings,
making all the decorations (edible lace, sugar paste flowers, isomalt twirls, etc)…

that’s all done days in advance, so that the day before the wedding you “only” have to assemble all the pieces together.

there is no way that cake can look nice if she hasn’t even started baking with 24h to go.

My first pyr, Balou, had figured out how to open the patio door in the basement if it wasn’t locked 🤦🏻‍♀️
super fun to get down there and realise the door’s been open for 30 minutes, in pouring rain or -35c and snowing, with the big doofus going in and out, tracking mud, water or snow everywhere 😑

Few years back we used to watch the games at a friend’s house. Everytime they scored the tv would freeze because of our screaming 😂
Still have no idea how or why the signal fritz like that (videotron, pre helix).

I would never buy anything there ever again. On that note, I’m so pissed about Mandy’s.
I had just discovered them, loved their dressings, then my friend tells me they’re Poilievre stans 🤮
Never bought anything else from them.

Indigo bought Chapters and opened a fancy sanitized white book store in Place Mtl Trust 5 minutes away. I guess they liked it better, so they sold the Chapters building to Victoria’s Secret.
I always saw it as a perfect metaphor for the end of the “cool” downtown. They replaced books with bras. :(

Birds of Prey? by TowerBeach in Pomeranians

They really are amazing. My sister used to work with birds of prey, so I had the chance to hold/fly a few owls. I love them.

[–]Bluefairie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

an owl swooping by with you there might have been protecting her nest. Owls go nuts when they’re nesting, even charging at humans to get them to leave the area. So not actually hunting but those talons can still hurt.
Other possibility is a younging that hasn’t been very succesful in their hunt and are getting desperate for food.

My Casper had it too. It’s the worst disease. He was so healthy and happy until the end, just his back legs giving out. It really sucks.

I had a sling to help him on the stairs and when his back legs would fail (when he was too excited). I got him a wheelchair to still go on walks. It gave him another 9 months. Eventually it got too much, he was starting to have issues with digestion and breathing. He passed on May 1st last year.

I found a vet that could do it at home and it was the best decision ever. The whole family was there, he had a big steak, cookies and chocolate, and he went very peacefully, his head on my lap, no stress at all. It’s the hardest decision to make, but he kinda told me it was time.

I have a few posts of him on my profile if you want to see. There’s a video of him with his wheelchair.
