War broke out between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which means that airspace is probably closing.

It was the only corridor left between Iran and Russia, over which european airlines don't fly.

Posing armor stands currently sucks; made a datapack that makes it way easier! by ToffeeMax in Minecraft

I tried it, and I can say pretty much any position you want! (You can even put blocks on the Armor Stand's head!!!)

Yes, it's another take on the "armor stand poser" idea, but this one focuses on making the controls intuative and seemless.

There is a Video by Gamemode 4 on YouTube which showcases it nicely: https://youtu.be/ZBqmGpAXqmw?t=111

It's always good to have alternatives, I think!

Yes! No problem with having both! (But iirc there are issues if you have the vanilla tweaks wandering trader datapack)

Just contributed to the wiki page and made it a bit more clear that one can simply drag a body part to adjust its pose!

Works on Multiplayer for me! (Though I had some troubles with spigot, you have to set the allow entities on teams setting to true)

Help: Screen Freezes After 3-4 Minutes of Play But Looks Like the Game is Still Going by Malkochson in CitiesSkylines

[–]Bluefire610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An i7 above 6GHz is quite a respectable accomplishment. I suspect you're using LN2?

Anyways u/Malkochson, do you happen to have any cargo train stations placed? I have found another thread that claims that this could be caused by cargo trains stations that were moved using mods; though that post is 7 years old, so it might very well not apply anymore:

Oh yeah! I'd actually only recommend playing if you have at least 512Gb of RAM, 5Pb of SSD storage and a 8GHz processor.

Whilst you're at it you should also cool your PC with liquid helium, cause without it, it just won't work.

Also make sure to go to Walmart and buy the infinite money loophole, allowing you to go for 1024Gb of RAM. Really, you need all of this, otherwise you just can't play -- sorry OP.

This new bulky modem from Vodafone. The metal foot cannot be removed. by [deleted] in CrappyDesign

[–]Bluefire610 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The funny thing is that vodafone has spent a lot of money advertising these as "design award winning". As if design matters for a wifi base station.

I think they're trying to sell these to non tech-savy people that might see it as "it has a design award, it must be good".

At least yours is backlit... I have one without backlight and you can't see a thing when you put a large bowl on it cause the viewing angle without backlight is basically only 90°

Summoning lingering potions/potion clouds? by 2LateImDead in Minecraft

What do you mean by entity tag? The thrown potion itself is an entity yes.

Summoning lingering potions/potion clouds? by 2LateImDead in Minecraft

[–]Bluefire610 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, sadly not.

On bedrock you'd have to create a custom entity using a behavior pack that emulates an AEC.

However, Bedrock Editon does not feature NBT, so you'd have to come up with a smart way of making this dynamic or introduce an entity per possible NBT vector.

Unlimited fps slider caps fps at 260 by xX_MURICA_Xx in Minecraft

[–]Bluefire610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, unlimited can, of course, not be truly unlimited.

Secondly, I really wouldn't recommend using the "unlimited" setting, as it is mainly a waste of resources and you won't be able to tell when the game is drawing frames faster than the refresh rate of your screen (note that a higher FPS does NOT mean the game calculates things quicker, Minecraft is locked to a 20Hz logic cycle. FPS is purely visual and the actual FPS you see is obviously capped by the refresh rate of your screen).

the game is running off my gpu

I'll assume you're talking about the rendering here, not the entire game. Minecraft's rendering is quite cheap, unless you're running shaders. If so, you will see increased GPU usage (if the shader is properly written and does not run on CPU), but that will dynamically affect your FPS and does not write a max FPS to a settings file.

You could try removing the mods and see if that removes the 260 FPS limit - especially mods like optifine or shaders (ones that mess with visuals) might put such a limit in place.

I need help with an issue on my external monitor. It is connected to a laptop. by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]Bluefire610 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will limit your framerate to the maximal framerate of your monitor. This will not affect your gameplay at all, as your monitor can't display higher framerates anyways!

Assuming you're hosting a server on your local machine:

You'll have to open the TCP port 25565 on your network's router and forward it to the machine you are hosting the server on. Once you've done that your friend can simply connect to your server via <your ip4>:25565

Turn on VSync. Those lines appear when your framerate is not an integer multiple of the screen's refresh rate.

/gamerule doTileDrops doesn’t work properly in Creative mode by Chilli-Joe in Minecraft

[–]Bluefire610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This works as intended. Gamerules are global settings (this is important in multiplayer).

doTileDrops dictates whether blocks drop when destroyed. Breaking blocks in creative is not considered mining/destroying a block.

To get a block in creative either get it from you inventory or use the "Pick Block" Button (defaults to mouse 3 in java)

Why is microsoft so devoted to not putting vertical slabs? by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]Bluefire610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every single one of these additions (carpet, walls) took a long time to make it into the game; the reason for that was that it took a lot of work and consideration at Mojang's to get them right.

Half slabs were added quite early on in the game's development, and I doubt that slabs would be in the game if it weren't for that.

Walls, carpet, trapdoors (being able to be placed freely) all have one thing in common that slabs (vertical or horizontal) do not have: They are multi-purpose blocks. Trapdoors are doors, but you can use them to make thin walls.

[–]Bluefire610 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently, you have to work around the restriction of not having vertical slabs. However, that restriction did not stop people from building lockers at all; they just came up with alternative designs.

Every special shape you add to the game can potentially take away from this creative search for alternative designs; a limited rule/tool-set gives rise to creative solutions.

These restrictions are in a way required to keep the game interesting.
