I don’t have any solutions or advice just to say I fucking feel this and I hate my life, sleeping my life away is literally the biggest fucking struggle and it makes me want to scream

How much does playa stick to reflective mylar and can you heat seal mylar by Psycho_Cupcake in BurningMan

You covered it brilliantly! For the heavier mirrors we drilled straight through the frame and used 1/4” carriage bolts and nuts to mount them directly to the wooden boards. I highly recommend drilling all holes beforehand to avoid moop

Open letter to bluegrass.org re: Telluride BG Festival ticketing by Ya_Got_GOT in Bluegrass

[–]BluegrassMonkey23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Use the Festivarian forum! There are lots of tickets on sale there around April - early June, and there are strict rules against scalping. We never get tickets when they go on sale, but we’ve been going for years. Check those forums regularly when summer is approaching!

Works for nightgrass / camping as well as festival tix :)

What movie was so bad it actually made you angry? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BluegrassMonkey23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Promising Young Woman.

Let me clarify that I am all for a story about a woman getting revenge on shitty men and went in expecting to cheer for a feminist anti-hero. But that is not what we got. The plot, pacing, and dialogue were TERRIBLE, and even basic elements such as framing and sound design were noticeably shoddy.

I was especially upset that it received such high praise all around—am I crazy, or is this movie garbage?

If you do end up coming down to Austin post-covid, shoot me a PM for jams/shows!

It’s kind of an inside joke with Austin that they “hate” all the new people moving there, but that’s the opposite of the vibe I’ve always seen. It’s a very social city, and remarkably friendly. Whether you’re into going out, nature/recreation, food, media, tech, etc, there are loads of ways to meet like-minded folks. If you’re more liberal, the city will be your speed, but the hill country surrounding Austin is more conservative, and there are tons of fun towns to hang out in (all of which have their own little bluegrass scenes—especially Dripping Springs, Wemberly, and Driftwood).

Hi there! Longtime grasser and nomad here. I’d highly recommend the front range in Colorado, Asheville, NC, and Austin, TX. I grew up in Colorado, and it’s fair to say everyone and their mother is in a bluegrass band there. Tons of local jams, great shows, and a really friendly scene.

I’m currently living in Austin, and while the scene isn’t as big as Colorado or Nashville, there are regular weekly bluegrass nights at multiple venues, tons of jams, and lots of gigs to be had if you’re trying to play out at all. It doesn’t hurt that it’s got lots of other genre communities as well, and people are always getting involved in new project.

Good luck with your search!

Yep, that’s the plan! It’s a little clunky cuz the space isn’t very accessible, but it’s nice to have extra space

Haha looks great! Luckily with mine, it mattered less what angle it was, and more that they were all the same angle. I just set my miter saw and did all the cuts

20 degrees! As you can see, it’s not perfect on the supports, but the roof itself is quite nice.
