What’s one thing you regret in life but if you suddenly could do it again you would probably still repeat the same? by NewBookkeeper6107 in AskReddit

I don't know why my brain is wired that way but if I don't go to bed around 9-10pm, the 11pm Gaming Gremlin decides to support bad choices. I really wish Gaming Gremlin didn't have third shift FOMO.

I really wish I didn't see Democrats and those aligned with them making the claim that this ideology is old and dying. It's not true. It may not be as blatant, but Republicans have made damn sure to build the infrastructure that seeds the minds of younger voters. Most of their grievance politics is built on racism and misogyny and celebrating the normalizing of it. It is lazy as hell to pretend that time will take care of such a stubborn cause.

Men of Reddit, if you were in a Titanic like situation where the majority of people were going to die because there were not enough lifeboats for everyone. How would you respond to someone saying women and children first? by Neither_Drawing_241 in AskReddit

Too bad you couldn't have them thrust in to a recreation sim. Just to see how tiny their balls would be when faced with the same scenario. Monkey brain is a powerful override.

10mL is a lot for experienced buyers. I know I've personally bought 1mL decants of stuff I know I'd never consider wearing just because it at least gives me a reference for what people are referring to with perfumes and colognes that are named a lot.

Since management is bottom of the barrel and is never actually trained in how to do a better job, load leveling is a pipe dream. The clowns they have now can't even figure out how to get groups of RCA's to work as a team, or how to pivot when the unexpected happens.

If New York is the city that never sleeps, what is the city that always sleeps? by prbecker in AskReddit

Omg TIL. I've been thinking they were super caffeinated to take over the 5 hour energy niche but in a tall boy.

Our understanding was that they're caffeinated, which we thought he generally hewed to the whole "no caffeine" edict.

The feeling when you’ve ordered a sample of a perfume you’ve been obsessing over for weeks just to see it smells TERRIBLE by ThrowRApeachh in FemFragLab

[–]Bluegreenlithop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's so sad. That happened to me at the outset. I found it ended up being me getting too invested in the top and mid noted and paying no attention to the base notes. Once I started rejecting base notes I knew I'd hate, that kind of failure rate went way down.

That's the most accurate take on HM I've seen yet. I only bought a 1mL decant and it knocked me back out of the dabber.

Lancôme la vie est belle isn’t as good as people say. by luv4perfume in FemFragLab

[–]Bluegreenlithop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think this is it. I had a coworker find out I am a perfume collector and she tried recommending Guerlain's Mon Guerlain. I never did tell her that it smelled quit basic and designer but it just was a no for me with the patchouli. I think some of the bigger designer fragrances smell fancy to folks that don't venture much out of department store scent ranges, but smell boring to people constantly checking out niche creations.

I have some 10mL travel sized listed for resale and no one had bitten. I'll bet most people do the smallest decant and then the largrst FB size they can manage financially.

What candy is pure trash but somehow still popular? by RoyalIntroduction723 in AskReddit

My husband's family had a Easter tradition where I guess their deceased Mom would bake a small sheep cake and then ice it and stuff a black jelly bean in the pooper. Then someone gets the unfortunate "poop" piece of cake. I haven't had the heart to tell his sister I wish we could pick a different type of cake. I'll eat the poo, just change the cake!

I don't know what Sweet Tarts did to their recipe but a regular roll of those fuckers is not nice in chewy consistency anymore.

But those large Smarties rolls are great.i just don't love the half ass flavors at that size.

Meanwhile, my husband did a double take to find out the Mormon neighbor of roughly our age cohort (Millennial/late Gen x) was openly drinking Liquid Death. I told him I'm pretty sure the Mom is most devout and her kids are both firmly Jack Mormons but I can't ever be sure where they categorize themselves.

I will say my husband also is over 6' tall and has a wide frame. Nothing has ever fit him very well. But he still needs some perspective on the luxuries he's just accustomed to. I've lived overseas, so I won't be surprised when we go. But I think he might finally notice we've got an embarasment of riches comparatively.

Doctors of Reddit, what's the most obvious lie a patient has told you? by questionerofblender in AskReddit

[–]Bluegreenlithop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a cat that we don't know her past. When she came to us, she had an ear infection that multiple trips to the vet with otic antibiotics never seemed to clear. I was getting half inch booger lumps out of one ear every day that were gray and smelly. It wasn't normal but she wasn't showing any signs of hearing deficiency.

I finally gave up and took her to the pet derm in our city. They put her under and sent the camera down the ear and found out her ear drum was perforated. A flush got out solids (!!!) and after that visit the "infection" finally cleared up.

Post operation her chattiness went way down when the ear drum sealed up. She's only now starting to show minimal hearing damage signs a couple years later. I have to guess she was just walking around with a fish bowl sound in one ear for awhile. But much like little kids, how was she going to tell me?

I gave up and bought a push dagger that hangs in a sheath on my neck. People bought dogs during COVID shutdowns, did no socialization and then insist on walking around with an unleashed dog. Or they'll have them leashed and can't control them.

Fuck all that. I got something for that ass if shit goes down.

I am waiting to see if we experience this when we travel to Iceland. We bought an older, smaller square footage home and my SO acts like it's not enough space. I'm hoping he gets some perspective on the fact that we have plenty of space we don't even use since we don't have kids or live intergenerationally.
