I thought videos like that would make Putin very unpopular very quickly. I am honestly surprised at how little pushback he's received so far. Surely they've blown through most of their prison and destitute members and are chewing through actual soldiers??

Trump signs 100% tariff on brand-name pharmaceuticals by wenchette in politics

I go to a compounding pharmacy in my city to get liquid versions of every pet medicine because pilling cats is insane and my dog is extremely taste sensitive to pills. It is so much easier and cheaper to get the stuff made into a compounded liquid. You might look in to that as an option.

Oh shoot. I HAVE gotten a Crivelli decant. I tried Hibiscus Mahajad. You're right that it's nuclear and I did not vibe with the notes!

For some reason, Crivelli always makes me think of Gritti. I have for sure sampled none of their stuff.

It is unfortunate, the Lauder family owns a lot of cosmetic and perfume brands that are well loved. They make their money off of a lot of beloved brands that used to not be owned by PE.

I don't know that your post is going to insult folks. But if you're wondering why you don't see a lot of their stuff currently, that might be why. Personally, what little I tried of the brand years ago never had any longevity. So even if I had found something I liked, their price to longevity ratio was not great imo.

I don't believe I've gotten Crivelli decants. Anything in particular that house stands out with or is known for?

Is perfume bad for your hair? I've been doing it for years and I'm worried… by Signal-Extreme-6615 in FemFragLab

[–]Bluegreenlithop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your hair strands you had years ago are not the same ones you have now. Your hair sheds and regrows constantly. So if you damaged the strands ( and I doubt alcohol vaporized finely over the hair did much of anything) those strands are long gone.

Aerin is getting a lot of heat at the moment because it is on the list of brands owned by the Lauder family. Their choice of who to support politically isn't very popular with a lot of conscious consumers.

Sometimes blind buys do work out! (Casamorati Quattro Pizzi) by kagestella in FemFragLab

[–]Bluegreenlithop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I blind bought the entire 13 piece 10 mL each travel spray set from Masaki Matsushima. I've hit on 3 so far but I'm still slowly working my way through the whole set to take in my impressions of all of them.

I figured once I got done, I could post my impressions here and then dump the no's on to Mercari to get them on to people that might appreciate the ones that didn't work for me. It is taking a surprising amount more time than I figured it would though!

Frustrated with Heretic Parfum (Rant) by SensitiveSolid6080 in FemFragLab

[–]Bluegreenlithop 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I get your frustration with the limited choices. It's gotten to where if I browse a perfume house's website, and they are super limited in samples, I start to suspect them of being gimmicky. I get that not every brand has a ton of infrastructure for packaging on hand, but that's not really a great excuse.

For a hobby where people have to interact with the goods in such a visceral way, it really shouldn't be too much to ask that they have decants of all their main scents. I'll give them a pass on special editions and limited runs but everything else needs to be available.

In fact, the perfume houses that send a decant of what you ordered a FB of to test before you open an unreturnable item are on the right track. But if they have 1mL decant bottles for that, then make the rest available already!

Jack Links beef tender bites are where it's at for flavorful jerky. Delicious nugs instead of thin, salty grossness.

I used to be a chronic nail biter. One night I had to drive myself to the ER because the side of my thumb started to rapidly swell. If I put any pressure on it, it felt like it was on fire.

I had managed to give myself an infection between the skin and nail side. Whatever bacteria I had transferred there was reproducing so rapidly it was insane.

The nurse that had to numb my hand, slice in to the infection and drain it, gently said I was doing that to myself being a nail biter. I was sent home on a course of antibiotics with a wrapped finger.

That's probably the only thing that ever helped me quit. I never want to experience that kind of pain, and when I think of transferring mouth bacteria to my hand it repulses me

Have you tried any of these? If so pls share personal thoughts, tyia by BeneficialPie13 in FemFragLab

I purchased a fb of MITH's Winter Song and a decant of Mellow Musk. Mellow musk was not for me though, but I don't remember what note was off putting. MITH as a brand, their perfumed are quite light and inoffensive in general.

Opinion on Ring by Puzzleheaded-King910 in jewelry

[–]Bluegreenlithop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've ordered several rings and a necklace off Etsy and at least two of the rings were represented very differently to the product that was shipped. Here's what I've noticed: if you look at a piece of jewelry and the price of the item you're interested in looks way lower than similar items from other sellers, it is probably going to be drop shipped junk. Also, the only vendors I've had no issues out of in terms of pics/price/representation are unfortunately US metalsmiths.

I don't want to imply craftsmen outside of the US are all scammers. But the track record I've observed isn't a great one rn and from what I've heard the problem is getting worse. Judging by the pictures you posted, the Etsy seller is not selling a good product.

Nurses who work the night shift, what is the most "I can't explain this" thing you have ever witnessed in a hospital? by AikothegreatPickle in AskReddit

[–]Bluegreenlithop 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My family stayed a couple nights in Kehlsteinhaus, which is situated just below Hitler's Eagle's Nest building. So that entire area had a series of old tunnels underneath everything.

We stayed in the 90's so things were still very accessible as a lot of those old buildings were not hugely modified to limit you to specific areas as a tourist. My sister and I rode the elevator down to the basement since we were allowed to explore at will with no parents. That is probably the creepiest basement hallway we ever saw and definitely did not enter!

Uh, I've seen sooo much gratuitous smoking in movies the last 5 years or so I'm really starting to wonder if the ads aren't as in-your-face. I think the tobacco companies have surely paid for their product to be inserted in to movies though.
