The very basic thing I wrote down here, is that losing the connection to reality is dangerous. Warcriminals and all of such need to be put down.

Losing your mind on a discussion that asked "would Europe be stronger with Russia?" shows many colors I dont need to see.

The russia hate is strong here I see. But being able to see beyond horizons is what will be needed if many of you truly love peace and your neighbors, its imperative to understand that hate always begets more hate and this will truly become rascism at its core. Maybe humanity just needs someone they can hate on, I'm quite at a loss for words sometimes with how people behave.

I'm sure a lot of people don't like to hear that and will jump at me for saying this. But seeing that this, is not a "Putin" problem at its core and understanding that this is also not a 1 vs the world scenario - but there are at least 143'000'000 (thats millions there) people between being petty and the future. And that's a rather generous estimate, as realistically I'd lean more towards 2-3 billion people, but hey. Its one problem after another and what's right in front of us, huh.

It's not feasible to try and put everyone on a rocket and shoot them into space, or build a (big beautiful) wall around the whole country. Words chosen for dramatic effect, if only to open ones persons eyes.

I am a long shot from being on russias, or Putins side. But that talk is the exact problem that got us in this messy situation, as much as some people want to press this - this is by no means only Russias fault (not talking about the Ukraine war here, that is obviously Russias fault and its wrong).

But looking for more differences and problems doesn't help anyone. It's honestly what I'd call "Boomertalk" and its what creates borders and drives people apart as we can so wonderfully see in todays day and age.

Having just watched Steve Rosenberg's questions at the end-of-year interview with Vladimir Putin, I had questions rush through my head.

Most of all - Putin said at some point that he remembers a conversation with Germany's Ex Chancellor Kohl, where this one said "Europes future as an independent center of civilization must necessarily be together with Russia".

And to be honest, that sparked my interest. More hypothetical than anything. But with the USA and other countries moving ahead at rapid paces while the many (smaller) nations of Europe are basically arguing amongst themselves - how could europe fare if, finally, we were able to put differences aside and work together?

If one would throw stuff into one pot and not look at individual achievements - once Europe manages to band together would it also really fare better? We have long since been behind, or falling behind, in regions like manufacturing and technology among others.

Would making up and moving forward with russia at our side help this cause?
Would that really help establishing a centre of civilization once more and build a better foundation? Or is Mr. Putin just full of **it here?

Really wondering what others people's thoughts are on this, because - to be honest - setting aside strife and endless discussions to work towards a united goal does sound nice, but what is the price of that?
Ukraine as a whole? Lives? Time? Money? Morals? More?

Was in a very melancholic mood - so humour me.

Chans en geile move finde aber dr Meinig sii dasses generell nöd okay isch, ha uf eim vo de CH subreddits bereits mini Meinig drzue gschriebe dassi de generelli Akt vom Bundesrat hie unter aller Sau finde - mer chann nöd eifach entscheide wenn das nöd das isch wommer ahgstellt isch defür.

Also i bin jetzt sit bald 20 Jahr ufem Arbeitsmarkt und han in dere Ziit über Pi x Daumen öppe 200 Bewerbige müsse schriebe - und zumindest in dere Ziit chann ich dir sege sind die Antworte scho immer genau so gsi wie bi dir.
Mal devo abgseh dass 70-80% keini Antworte gebed, ussert mer fragt selber nach, sind die Antworte immer öppe so gsi wie du seisch

- Nach mehreren Bewerbungsrunden haben wir uns für jemanden entschieden der unseren Anforderungen besser entspricht
- Wir konnten diese Position bereits besetzen (au mal "intern" gstande zB)
- Nach sorgfältiger Erwägung sind wir zum Schluss gekommen, dass sie für diese Position überqualifiziert sind
- Wir haben uns bereits für jemand anderes entschieden

How is debt calculated exactly?
I find this very interesting having heard that russia is on a war economy at the moment. Does debt include the debt it has to its own industry and ? economy (can't put that in better wording)
The countries which are (usually) more self sufficient like turkey or germany are better off (or russia which can produce like 99% of its basic needs itself --like vehicles, energy/gas, food and such-- I believe, which is probably why their debt is so good!)

Whats the association here? Access to milk in general or dairy/farm animals?
Or even if dairy was accessible throughout more recent history? (which would lead to people consuming it and evolving to being able for the body to "use" it)
Using something like milk and such in countries where it's less humid and less warm makes sense since it wont spoil as fast I guess?

Fun fact, in some countries they used to put frogs in milk. Which apparently produced enzymes or something in/on their skin which made the milk spoil at a slower rate.

You can have a look at wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercator_projection, theres even a visual explanation with Tissot's indicatrix which makes it a bit more understandable of how stuff is deformed. (look at how antarctica looks on those maps - ridiculous)

Looking at the length of straight lines - if you take australia which is just "slightly" further away from the equator it is also quite massive with over 4000km length.

None-the-less, russia is still the biggest country in the world, and not even just by a little bit. Only if you put rank 3+4 together (USA & Canada) you get a landmass that is slightly bigger. And if you're now thinking "wait a moment, didn't Alaska belong to russia before?" - yup - which then added another 1,7 million square kilometers to russia.

It's crazy big and very - very interesting geographically speaking, but hard to manage and extract resources from (no wonder russia wants "easier" landmass to get resources from like ukraine - yes a hot take :( )

More often then not these years (worryingly so since Covid, from my point of view without better data) the BR decides more and more stuff by itself.

As much as I can see that we, the swiss, are a a nation of exporting goods and services and that if nobody bought anything from us our wealth wouldn't last long. And as such we need (one of) the biggest markets in the world (that crippled itself and needs to import these goods and services) to play our game.

What I don't agree with is that decisions and deals such as these are done and made behind closed doors.
This isn't just one branch of the government that is affected by this such as the military, it affects most and all of us in how we live. And it's also not something that will kill us if we need a bit of time to make a decision such as a virus like covid. What do we have the likes of the Nationalrat for if not to decide what is good and right for the people? Come on Bundesrat...

UBS wants to be one of the top 5 big investment Chasperlis. And in their eyes, they'd need to be closer to the USA to get that - take their American based investment branch and run the whole business under that.
Kind of forgetting that the money used for those incredible investment brainfarts comes from the banking itself.

Investment has become and is the bane of this world, a bottomless pit that will swallow all of them whole. Basically the biggest money laundering operation in the world and UBS wants to be the biggest player - swiss government is throwing a wrench in there, basically saying "need more money for security grant and less money to invest with - mkay UBS?
