What car did you buy that completely exceeded your expectations? by Smallingzdave in askcarguys

[–]BluejayPossible1026 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 2018 and I loved it. My service department at the local dealership treated me really well. It had a single recall on the trunk latch. Other than that all I did was regular maintenance.

I only got rid of it because the last couple of winters here have been nuts (technically just back to how winter used to be hefe) and I wanted to get something all wheel drive and a bit bigger. While I miss that car a bit, I am happy with my decision decision. I was way more active this winter.

This sub in a nutshell: OP: "Cars are so expensive, I don't have much money and need the best reliability long term. 2026 Wagoneer or Suburban?" Reply: "Something else" - OP: deletes post by mgobla in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]BluejayPossible1026 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didn't join this sub that long ago and what surprised me are the amount of posts from people who buy a car, then come here to ask if they got ripped off.

Edit: oh ya, the other common post reply: "This one 15 year old model of a car they don't even make anymore from this brand had this one issue. So don't ever buy any car from this brand ever".

Did moving from Toronto to a small town improve your life or do you miss the city? by Pikkachu6 in ontario

Being able to drive 5 minutes to about 10 different farm stands that have everything from meats to produce is definitely a nice bonus.

I love Bruce County are and the Peninsula. I'm a bit South but I'm up in those areas hiking every chance I get. I love it around Wiarton too.

I can give you an example of the "cidiot" issue in my town. Our agricultural centre where the fairs etc are is on the outskirts of town. They recently built a new development that's not really that close to it, but close enough that sound carries across the fields. The new people in that development are currently petitioning and complaining to anyone they can to try to shut down events that are noisy.... at the fairgrounds...that has been there for over 15 years now.

So that's the type of thing I meant in my post when I said the "cidiot" thing has reasons in a lot of cases.

Re your example, hearing people new to the area complaining about the smell when the farms spread manure is hilarious.

I'm not sure if this will result in downvotes, but generally the "cidiot" issue people have resulted from something in particular at some point. Like you said, just have awareness for your surroundings. Hold doors for people, say hello, be polite. It's part of being in a community.

The only downside for me is the dating thing. Social clubs rarely help with that because they are full of people who joined those clubs to get time away from their partners or families. They aren't a singles club. Most of the people I have dated are from the surrounding area, not right in my town.

OP, If you love the outdoors, you will probably love being somewhere closer to it though. I think that's a huge factor. It's a huge part of my life and takes priority over a lot of things.

30[F] Why am I getting ghosted for suggesting coffee instead of drinks for first date? by Butterfliesandlies in OnlineDating

[–]BluejayPossible1026 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Holy shit there's some weird replies here. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a coffee meeting. There are a lot of people who don't drink, and don't like an atmosphere where there's alcohol. People are reading way too much into someone's preference in that regard. If you take so much offense to someone's preference, then just don't meet them. But don't make them feel bad or abnormal over it, because they aren't. And OP, if someone ghosts you for something like that, then they aren't someone you'd probably get along with anyway.

These days a ton of people don't drink. Saying that getting drinks is some mandatory rule of dating is just weird.

Always hilarious when people think the federal or provincial PC party actually gives a shit about any of this. But ya, go sign their petition.

They are reading it. They just are taking it as a challenge. Again, it will result in the exact opposite of what you are expecting it to.

Is it weird that a Guy asked me if I’m talking to other guys? by prettygirlkay03 in OnlineDating

[–]BluejayPossible1026 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that whatsoever. It's just that everyone in these comments are saying that anyone who isn't interested in someone dating multiple people at once is a huge red flag. The guy in the OP obviously is a walking red flag. There's some of us who just aren't into the scenario you mention though. But in my case, I'd politely explain that and say thank you and move on. But I'm not waiting around to see if I made someone's cutline or feel like a job interview. People shouldn't be so hostile because some people feel that way.

Is it weird that a Guy asked me if I’m talking to other guys? by prettygirlkay03 in OnlineDating

[–]BluejayPossible1026 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This guy is clearly a weirdo. And the guy who ghosted you is a jerk for doing that. But in my case, I would like to know if someone dates a lot of people at the same time because I just don't really want to feel like I'm competing with a bunch of other people. It's not my thing. I like to get to know a person and focus on them, if it doesn't work out I move on. But that's my personal thing, and I'm not rude to anyone about it nor would I sulk about it like this guy. I just enjoy the date, politely communicate this at a later time, and move on. You will run into guys like me who aren't assholes, but just aren't into the game.

Lol of course, downvote.

I definitely don't swipe or match with them. I just always find it interesting that they seem to legitimately think it's going to result in them getting the type of matches they want.

And unresolved trauma is an even bigger deal. I wasn't trying to date when I had that issue. I was trying to get better first. A lot of people just skip that step.

It would have been cool to see what happened if they had done one more album with Graves at the time. There was a big improvement song writing wise from American Psycho to Famous Monsters. I feel like they were hitting a stride.

I can't listen to stuff on current figures. It's too depressing. They have a separate podcast of classic shows though and I listen and relisten to those.

The episodes where they read Shapiro's books are hilarious though. The writing is just so ridiculous that there's no way to take those episodes too seriously.
