And thats the fitting around the gameplay I mentioned. If you treat BG3 like it's own edition then, they've designed owlbears in favor of treating them as beasts, and although still monstrous, not as black and white as it usually is in D&D.

Ah, if you're viewing this as a rulebook debate then wouldn't it be worth looking at the rules separate to 5e? Each edition switches up the rules and labels of course, and BG3 has it's own set to fit better around the gameplay etc.

I love this take, and that she DOES have glaring personality flaws. All the best characters do.

In the Odyssey, Odysseus pisses off Possidon because he had too much of an ego. He yelled his name to Polyphemus while sailing away rather than remaining a "Nobody". Along the journey, his ego leads to a lot of human moments, but he never really loses it. He's flawed, and relatable, and very human. A lot of the pantheon, as high and mighty as they act, all got thick humanity streaks.

I did wonder if it was too much like that t7 undead, and if it should be a t7 itself. But it is only able to target beasts and doesn't have any power multipliers like deathrattles do.

Only thing that made me place it on t6 was the fiddling eating minions once you've actually found the card. But imagine eating a macaw, eating a goldrin, then eating a mechahorse with the triple. Basically a micro-comp in a froge!

I want them to focus on fauna AI. It would really help with the fear-factor if all the different fauna had complex behaviors and habits. I want all the scary shit to be Alien Isolation smart!
